Wien Won't Fold Full

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

James Obst and Jeremy Wien built a pot of about 150,000 with {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts} on the felt. Wien was in the big blind, tanked awhile and checked. Obst moved all in for about 90,000 effective.

"So sick," Wien said with a sigh.

He counted out his stack and thought awhile before dropping in some chips to call. Obst turned over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Wien showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a better full house to double.

D'Ambrosio Value Betting with King-High

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Yasheel Doddanavar raised to 5,000 under the gun and Jimmy D'ambrosio, in the big blind, called.

The dealer fanned a flop of {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and D'ambrosio bet 6,500. Doddanavar called.

The turn came the {8-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {j-Hearts} river. D'ambrosio threw in a bet of 11,500 and Doddanavar tank-called.

"Value betting with king-high,'' commented D'ambrosio turning over {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Indeed, his opponent mucked.

"I was hoping you call with queen-high,'' said Ambrosio to Doddanavar while raking in the pot.

"How do you do it!" added a player at the table jokingly.

Lehavot Running Hot

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Steve Zolotow called us over and said Amir Lehavot was making magic happen at Table 445. Apparently, Lehavot twice got all in preflop holding {8-}{8-} against {j-}{j-}. Both time, Lehavot won in identical fashion by making a nine-high straight, and he's now got a very healthy stack of nearly 170,000.

Mateos Wins One

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a flop reading {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Thomas Cazayous, in the big blind, checked. Adrian Mateos bet 5,000 on the button and Cazayous check-called.

The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and was checked through to the {3-Clubs} river. Cazayous checked again and Mateos threw in a bet of 17,500. Cazayous took a few seconds to reflect, then threw in a chip signifying a call. Mateos tabled {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} to claim the pot and Cazayous sent his hand to the muck.

Kalinin Finds a Big Fold

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Nikita Kalinin was in the tank on a completed board of {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Spades}. His opponent, David Rudolf on his right, had set him for a pot-sized bet of 28,000. Kalinin thought awhile and mucked, and Rudolf showed {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

Kalinin reached over and flipped his {a-}{a-} before the dealer could muck it.

"I Guess It Was a Really Bad River"

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a flop reading {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Ricky Guan in the big blind checked. Amir Lehavot, on the button, bet 5,500 and Guan check-called.

The turn came the the {4-Diamonds} and Guan check-called another bet of 10,000 from Lehavot.

The {j-Spades} filled up the board and Guan checked for a third time. Lehavot fired 26,000 and Guan took a few seconds of reflection.

"It was a really good river, or a really bad river," muttered Guan. "I improved. Noone folds when they improve," he added jokingly.

A few seconds later, Guan made the call, only to see Lehavot's {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for a rivered flush.

"I guess it was really bad river," commented Guan, while tossing his cards in the muck.
