Bubble On the Horizon

Level 18 : 1,750/3,500, 450 ante

The tournament is now drawing near to the money, having just 312 runners left of the 2,053 entry field, and the top 296 will be hitting the money.

New Leader Before Break

Level 18 : 1,750/3,500, 450 ante

Bert Stevens three-bet a pot that contained around 17,000 in it, making it 32,450 to go. Only Noam "silverplat" Makavy called to see the {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop where Stevens led out, betting 25,196.

Makavy called and a {j-Spades} flipped over as the turn card. Stevens continued to fire with a bet of 41,825 an Makavy called once more.

A board-completing {3-Diamonds} fell and Stevens jammed for more than enough to cover his opponent. The timebank button was hit by Makavy but ultimately, he put in his 125,712 stack, tabling {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a flopped dime.

Stevens rolled over the bad news, showing {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} which gave him a higher two pair after turning a johnnie. Makavy was eliminated just shy of the money and Stevens took the lead heading into the break with the bubble looming.

Bouquet Comes Up Short

Level 19 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Action folded around to Timothy Ulmer in the small blind and he elected to put Rui Bouquet to the test. Bouquet obliged, calling his 34,476, and cards went faceup.

Rui Bouquet: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Timothy Ulmer: {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The flop fell {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, hooking Ulmer up with a flush draw and instantly it was hit on the {9-Diamonds} turn card. Another diamond could have turned the tide but a {7-Hearts} fell instead and Bouquet fell from the field just a few spots shy of the money.

Ulmer Continues to Run Pure

Level 20 : 2,500/5,000, 600 ante

The action fell on Timothy Ulmer and he elected to shove 108,450 from the button. Luigi "shadinho94" Shehadeh threw in a call from the big blind and the Canadian was at risk.

Timothy Ulmer: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Luigi "shadinho94" Shehadeh: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Sailboats took the lead right through on a {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} turned board, and were just one card away from dropping Ulmer, but he connected with the {q-Spades} river to double through Shehadeh.
