Gin River Card for Muallem

Level 9 : 140/280, 35 ante

After an open to 560 and a caller, Ryan "GoFeltAfiSh" Eriquezzo three-bet to 2,546 from the hijack. Noam "Lokass27" Muallem then four-bet jammed for 7,961 from the button and "PACMAN" called off for 5,988 from the big blind.

The original raiser and limper both folded before Eriquezzo called to put both players at risk.

Noam "Lokass27" Muallem: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ryan "GoFeltAfiSh" Eriquezzo: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
"PACMAN": {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Eriquezzo was the big stack and favorite. The {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop was nothing special, and the {8-Diamonds} turn didn't change anything. However, the {k-Hearts} river did as Muallem spiked his two outer to claim the pot and send "PACMAN" to the rail.

Eriquezzo Gets His Revenge

Level 9 : 140/280, 35 ante
Ryan Eriquezzo
Ryan Eriquezzo

Just a few hands after his aces got cracked on the river, Ryan "GoFeltAfiSh" Eriquezzo raised to 654 under the gun. Noam "Lokass27" Muallem, who did the deed, then three-bet to 1,028 two spots over. Action folded back to Eriquezzo and he four-bet to 9,999, which prompted Muallem to call off for 9,543.

Ryan "GoFeltAfiSh" Eriquezzo: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Noam "Lokass27" Muallem: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Eriquezzo had the better ace and it held as the board ran out a clean [8c9hks6d2]. Muallem was felted on the hand but opted to re-enter.

Steffen Stacking

Level 9 : 140/280, 35 ante

Victor "Crokou" Choupeaux jammed all in for 4,654 from under the gun. In folded around to big stack David "EVPlus" Steffen on the button who re-shoved to force out the blinds.

Steffen was looking for the knockout with the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} vs the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} of Choupeaux.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} to give even more chips to Steffen's top stack while Choupeaux re-bought.

Level 10 : 160/320, 40 ante

Raman "Acrogum" Afanasenka opened for 744 from middle position and Rajendra "vsamba" Mahadevappa called from the hijack. "Oops1Outer" came along from the button, both blinds folded, and the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Two checks saw "Oops1Outer" bet 3,072 and only Afanasenka called to see the {5-Clubs} turn.

Afanasenka checked and then called off for 10,069 after "Oops1Outer" bet big.

"Oops1Outer": {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Raman "Acrogum" Afanasenka: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"Oops1Outer" was ahead with top pair and held on the {9-Hearts} river. Afanasenka, who captured a bracelet in last year's online series, opted to re-enter the tournament.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Level 11 : 200/400, 50 ante
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.
