Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Kelli Phillips
Kelli Phillips

On the {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs} turn, Kelli Phillips shoved for her last 195,000 and William Anderson called to put her at risk.

Kelli Phillips: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
William Anderson: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Phillips had flopped a straight and the inconsequential river sent her the pot. Anderson was left with only 140,000 and busted a few hands later.

West Flops Straight Over Set

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Brandon West
Brandon West

With about 125,000 in the pot and {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades} on the flop, Brandon West called Billy Johnson's all in for about 360,000. The cards were flipped and they showed:

Billy Johnson {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Brandon West {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}

West flopped a straight to the king and Johnson received no help for his set from the {5-Hearts} on the turn or the {9-Hearts} on the river, sending him to the rail. West is sitting at about triple the average stack with 2,550,000 in chips halfway through Level 22 and with 30 players remaining.

Mitchell Felted By Set

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Tyler Mitchell
Tyler Mitchell

Tyler Mitchell was seen getting up as he was drawing very thin after a flop showed {q-Clubs}{4-}{7-}. Mitchell had the {q-}{j-} but it was well behind the {7-}{7-} set of John Divecha.

The dealer quickly turned the {10-} and put a {5-} on the river to end his run and send the pot over to Divecha.

"I folded a seven too" said one of the players at the table.

"That's not what I want to hear!" said Mitchell as he was sent away.

The Title Will Not Be Defended

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
James Barnett
James Barnett

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Three players were in the hand, as defending champion James "Jimmy" Barnett bet 80,000 from early position into a pot of what looked to be about 120,000, John Divecha on his direct left folded and Brandon West called in the big blind.

The river came the {7-Hearts}. West led-jammed all in and Barnett snap-called.

West tabled the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the nut flush. Barnett saw the bad news and began to stand up as he showed the {j-Clubs}{10-} straight as his dream of repeating as Casino Employee event champion was dashed just like that early on day 2 thanks to the cooler.
