Day 1a Completed
Flight A of Event #18: $565 Pot Limit Omaha saw a staggering 1,711 total entries, but just 61 players bagged chips at the end of the day. The money bubble burst at the start of level 11, and just under 200 players were eliminated from then until the conclusion of play.
Players began with 5,000 starting chips, and leading the way in this flight is Cody Slaubaugh with a massive 726,000 chip stack. The next largest stack belongs to Hassan Tahsildar with 425,000, and behind him is Ankush Mandavia with 299,000.
Several more well-known players also bagged chips, including Ryan D'Angelo, Dave Diiorio, Joey Ingram, Andrew Barber, and Lee Watkinson.
Others weren't quite so fortunate. Ari Engel, Ted Lawson, Jessica Dawley, TJ Cloutier, Annette Obrestad, Ylon Schwartz, Barry Greenstein, Rep Porter, Ismael Bojang, defending champion Ryan Laplante, and 2016 WSOP Player of the Year Jason Mercier were all among the fallen in Flight A.
Day 2 will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and players from both starting flights will be combined then.
Flight B is still ongoing, so be sure to check out continuing coverage of Event #18: $565 Pot Limit Omaha here.
