Soika Soars

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Action folded around to Salvatore DiCarlo in the cutoff and he raised to 700,000. Ihar Soika called on the button and Stoyan Obreshkov three-bet to 2,850,000 from the big blind. DiCarlo folded and action was back on Obreshkov.

Obreshkov went into the tank for a solid five minutes before Brian Yoon called the clock. Tournament director Bob Smith walked over to confirm a sufficient amount of time had passed and the dealer acknowledged that it had. Smith explained that Soika had 30 seconds before he would begin a 10-second countdown. If there was no action by the time he said "zero," the hand would be dead. "Zero!" yelled Will Failla. The entire table laughed and Obreshkov proceeded to call.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Obreshkov paused for about a minute before checking. Soika went into the tank and eventually moved all in. Obreshkov folded.

Stoyan Obreshkov Eliminated in 11th Place ($75,915)

Level 35 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante
Stoyan Obreshkov
Stoyan Obreshkov

Stoyan Obreshkov raised to 625,000 from the hijack and Brian Yoon three-bet to 1,600,000 from the cutoff. After about a minute, Obreshkov moved all in for 7,050,000. Yoon asked for a count and paused before deciding to call.

Obreshkov was at risk and well ahead with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} while Yoon held a dominated {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Yoon pulled ahead with a pair of jacks. Obreshkov could still hit a king for a bigger pair or a ten for a straight, but the turn was the {q-Spades} and the river was the {j-Hearts}. Yoon filled up and Obreshkov, who was the chip leader coming into the day, is now on the rail.
