Day 2 Has Come to a Close and Ian O'Hara Leads the Way

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Ian O'Hara
Ian O'Hara

Day 2 of Event #60: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed is in the books, and Ian O'Hara bagged the chip lead heading into Day 3. He ended the day with 5,660,000 chips and hopes to continue this run on the final day tomorrow as the remaining 28 players battle it out for the $888,888 first-place prize and the coveted WSOP Gold Bracelet.

O'Hara is from Boca Raton, Florida and has already cashed six times in this year's WSOP. He is in for his seventh cash with this event but has his sights set on his first WSOP title and gold bracelet. O'Hara has an impressive tournament resume with over 20 cashes in his young WSOP career.

Following closely behind O'Hara are five players with over four million in chips. Alexandru Papazian (4,840,000), Michael Tureniec (4,640,000), Eric Baldwin (4,505,000), Vlad Darie (4,420,000) and Guillaume Diaz (4,090,000).

There are many notables still left in the field, but one to keep an extra close eye on is Pablo Mariz from Canada. Mariz won his first WSOP Gold Bracelet earlier in the series after taking down Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em MILLIONAIRE MAKER. He bested a huge field of 7,761 players to take home the championship and $1,221,407 for his efforts.

Notables to fall on the day were the likes of, Niall Farrell (323rd place), John Dolan (295th place), Chris Ferguson (277th place), JJ Liu (242nd place), Michael Moore (220th place), Kevin Eyster (194th place), Kevin Macphee (193rd place), Shannon Shorr (172nd place), Jay Farber (136th place), Loni Harwood (129th place), William Kassouf (102nd place), Darren Elias (91st place), JC Tran (68th place), Jason Wheeler (39th place) and Valentin Vornicu (31st place).

The restart is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time and players will play 60-minute levels with a 15-minute break every two levels. There will be a dinner break after level 6 and tomorrow a champion will be crowned.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews team proudly brings you all of the final day's action for this event.
