E-Tay Fighting on the Short Stack

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Esther Taylor raised to 700,000 from the button with 1,100,000 behind and won the blinds.

Two hands later, Taylor raised to 600,000 fropm the small blind and Alexey Rybin called in the big blind. The flop fell {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Taylor moved all in, Rybin folded the {9-Diamonds} face up.

Rybin got his chips back by raising to 500,000 from the small and picking up a call by James Calderaro. On the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Rybin bet 600,000 and Calderaro folded.

Rybin also raised to 500,00 on the next button and Taylor called in the big blind. After a flop of {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Taylor checked and folded to a bet of 750,000 by Rybin.

Esther Taylor raised to 700,000 from the button, Alexey Rybin called from the small blind, and James Calderaro called from the big blind.

The flop came {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and Rybin checked. Calderado checked, as well, and Taylor moved all in for about 880,000, prompting uproarious cheers from her rail. Rybin quickly folded, and after showing {J-}{J-}{X-}{X-}, Calderado did the same.

Taylor took the pot.

Taylor Doubles Through Calderaro

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

James Calderaro raised to 500,000 from the button, and Esther Taylor moved her entire stack into the middle from the small blind. She could only raise to 1,700,000 and had just 85,000 behind after her three-bet. Alexey Rubin folded his big blind, and after a few moments, Calderaro called. Taylor put her last 85,000 in the pot in the dark, and Calderaro called before the dealer ran out the board.

Taylor: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Calderaro: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Taylor had the preflop advantage with her queens, and Calderaro needed help from the deck to take the pot and eliminate Taylor.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{8-}{5-Spades}, which changed nothing, and the turn brought the {Q-Hearts} to give Taylor a lock on the pot with queens full. The meaningless {9-Spades} fell on the river, and Taylor scooped the pot to double up.

Caldo Checks Back Inferior Flush

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Esther Taylor defended her big blind against a raise to 500,000 from James Calderaro, then check-folded the {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} turn.

Two hands later, Alexey Rybin raised to 600,000, and Calderaro called in the big blind. The {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop went check-check before the {9-Diamonds} turn saw a bet of 800,000 from Rybin and a call from Calderaro. The {K-Diamonds} river went check-check, again, and Rybin rolled over {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

"I have a flush, too," Calderaro said and showed {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, then mucked. "See, no bet," Calderaro said to his rail.

James Calderaro raised to 500,000 from the button, Esther Taylor called from the small blind, and Alexey Rybin called from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and action checked to Calderaro, who bet 800,000. Taylor check-folded, Rybin check-raised to 2,000,000, and Calderaro folded.

Esther Taylor Eliminated in 3rd Place ($543,713)

Level 29 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

Alexey Rybin raised to 500,000 from the button, and Esther Taylor called from the big blind.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and Taylor bet the pot for 1,100,000. Rybin raised, and Taylor called all in for about 1,660,000 total.

Rybin: {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Taylor: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}

Taylor was in dire straits with a straight draw and backdoor flush draw against Rybin's trips.

The {10-Hearts} turn and {J-Hearts} river completed the board, no help to "E-Tay" to end her run in third place.

A Freeroll and a Double for Calderaro

James Calderaro Doubles Up
James Calderaro Doubles Up

Alexey Rybin raised to 500,000, and James Calderaro called.

On the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, Calderaro bet 750,000, and Rybin called. After the {3-Diamonds} turn, Calderaro bet the pot, Rybin moved all in, and Calderaro called.

James Calderaro: {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Alexey Rybin: {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Calderaro was freerolling with the better diamond draw, and the {10-Hearts} river blanked to chop it up.

Then, Calderaro made it 500,000 to go, and Rybin called.

On the {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Rybin checked, and Calderaro bet 600,000. Rybin check-raised to 2,800,000, and Calderaro was sent into the think tank. "That's a good one," he said to his rail,"

Rybin replied, "Let's finish it," followed by a, "Take your time."

Calderaro then called one minute later, and Rybin moved all in after the {J-Clubs} turn. Calderaro quickly called.

James Calderaro: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Alexey Rybin: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The {5-Clubs} on the river was a blank, and Calderaro doubled for 4,785,000 while his rail erupted in massive celebration.
