Erik Albinsson Eliminated in 9th Place (£6,875)

Erik Albinsson - 9th Place
Erik Albinsson - 9th Place
Stud 8:

Jeff Lisandro ({A-Hearts}) ({4-Spades}) {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {5-Spades} ({K-Clubs})

Erik Albinsson ({3-Diamonds}) ({6-Diamonds}) {5-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {9-Hearts} ({6-Hearts})

Mark Gregorich brought it in with the {2-Diamonds}, Jeff Lisandro called, Erik Albinsson raised, Gregorich folded and Lisandro called. On fourth street Albinsson bet the rest of his chips and Lisandro called.

Lisandro made tens and fours on fifth street and Albinsson needed to catch a queen to make a better two pair, running low cards or running straight cards. Sixth and seventh streets blanked out for him, though, and Albinsson quietly hit the rail as our final table bubble boy.

The Chess Master
The Chess Master
As we were being introduced to today's finalists in this £2,500 H.O.R.S.E event, we were treated to a genuine first as Ivo Donev's introduction included a spam for his personal blog and website. I feel so violated.

Moments later, we also learned that Ivo Donev is known as the 'Chess Master,' which our MC explained "is because Ivo is a chess master in Austria." Well, I'm glad he cleared that one up, I thought it was because he was a Backgammon master.

Duvall Lays It Down

Hold'em:

I caught up with the action on the turn, Ivo Donev check-calling a bet of 8,000 from Jeff Duvall on a {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board. On the {9-Hearts} river, however, it was the Chess Master who became the aggressor, leading out for 8,000 to take the pot.

Where Are the Ivey Fans?

Omaha 8:

Jeff Lisandro limped in, Sherkhan Farnood completed the small blind and Phil Ivey checked his option. The flop was {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. Farnood led out, Ivey raised, Lisandro folded and Farnood called. The turn brought the {J-Hearts}, eliciting a check from Farnood and a bet from Ivey. Farnood gave up his hand and Ivey won the pot.

Sensing too little excitement from the rail for Ivey, TD Jack Effel got on the mic.

"No cheers for Phil, here?" he asked.

"I think everyone's bet against him!" joked Media Director Nolan Dalla.

"Really?" said Ivey, turning around to greet Dalla with a sly smile.

Farnood Scoops

Omaha 8:

On a flop of {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Jeff Duvall led out for 4,000, Sherkhan Farnood made it 8,000 and Duvall called.

Turn = {A-Diamonds}

Both players checked.

River = {5-Clubs}

Duvall bet out 8,000, Farnood called.

Duvall showed {3-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{K-Spades}, but Farnood flipped {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to scoop with a low to the six and top two for the high.
