Silence is Not Golden

Sadly, we've stumbled upon a few technical snags here at the final table. With the ESPN camera crew ambushing today's event, we're unable to get near the table and are relying on the the MC skills of Jack Effel. The P.A. system isn't working at the moment, but ESPN's best men are on the job and hope to get it up and running soon.

In the meantime, I can report that Dave Penly is munching on a ham and cheese baguette and Chris Ferguson just scratched his chin. We'll keep you updated on any further action.

Jorgensen Takes it on the River

In a three-way raised pot between Tomi Nyback, Theo Jorgensen and Jason Mercier, the flop came down {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}. Nyback checked, Jorgensen bet 40,000, Mercier called and Nyback folded. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and both players checked. The river was the {8-Diamonds}, prompting a pot-sized bet of 140,000 from Jorgensen. Mercier went into a long think, ultimately mucking his cards and conceding the pot to Jorgensen.

Good Start for Mercier

The start to this final table has been a somewhat cagey affair thus far, especially after the bedlam of yesterday, but one player who seems to be willing to play some hands is Jason Mercier. He's already taken down two of three pots with leading bets on the flop.

Jesus Christ Superstar

On a flop of {2-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Theo Jorgensen bet out 22,000 and Chris Ferguson made the call. After both players checked the {5-Clubs} turn, Jorgensen came out firing on the {7-Diamonds} river to the tune of 75,000. Without too much hesitation, Chris Ferguson called with a set of fours. Jorgensen could only muster a pair of nines.

Erik Friberg Doubles Through Tomi Nyback

Erik Friberg and Tomi Nyback got their chips in on a {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {5-Clubs} flop, Nyback holding two pair, tens and fives, and Friberg with {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} for a pair of kings and a wrap. The {7-Clubs} on the turn gave Friberg more outs with a flush draw, and the {J-Hearts} on the river made his straight, doubling him up to over 350,000 in chips. Nyback was left on 190,000.

Friberg Takes One Down

We joined the action with the board reading {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Erik Friberg led out, Dave Penly folded, Jason Mercier called and Tomi Nyback folded. On the {A-Clubs} turn, Friberg led out for 40,000 and Mercier called. Both players checked the {Q-Clubs} river and Friberg took it down with just top pair.
