Chris Ferguson Eliminated in 7th Place (£33,000)

Chris Ferguson - 7th Place
Chris Ferguson - 7th Place
No one hits quads like Theo Jorgensen hits quads.

Chris Ferguson got his entire stack in on a flop of {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} and Theo Jorgensen made the call.

Ferguson {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {8-Clubs}

Jorgensen {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs}

Jorgensen flopped a set of sixes, but Ferguson was in good shape with the nut flush draw and a straight draw. The turn, though, was a total disaster for Ferguson as the {6-Clubs} landed, making Jorgensen quads yet again. The inconsequential {9-Diamonds} fell on the river and Jesus hit the rail in seventh place, collecting £33,000 for his efforts today.

Dalby Survives

Dalby's sound
Dalby's sound
Eric Dalby limped UTG for 10,000, Sorel Mizzi joined the party on the button, Theo Jorgensen made it 50,000 from the big blind and both Dalby and Mizzi made the call.

With Jorgensen checking the {K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Dalby bet the pot (viturally all his chips). Both opponents folded.

Updated Chip Counts

Jorgensen's back-to-back quads have given him a commanding chip lead. Pescatori is now on the short stack.

Theo Jorgensen 1,314,000
Sorel Mizzi 760,000
Erik Friberg 581,000
David Penly 250,000
Eric Dalby 235,000
Max Pescatori 180,000

Friberg and Mizzi Chop

Sorel Mizzi opened for 24,000, Eric Dalby called on the button, Erik Friberg called in the small blind and David Penly called in the big. The flop was {Q-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}. Friberg led out for 60,000 and only Mizzi called. The turn was the {8-Clubs}. Friberg slid out another 150,000 and Mizzi called. The river fell the {9-Hearts}. Friberg moved all in for his remaining 167,000 and after a long think, Mizzi made the call.

Friberg: {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {8-Hearts}

Mizzi: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs}

Friberg and Mizzi made identical hands, queens and nines, and split the pot.

Friberg Straightens Mizzi Out

On a {K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board, Sorel Mizzi led out for 30,000 and Erik Friberg called. After both players had checked the {J-Hearts} turn, Mizzi check-called a bet of 65,000 on the {4-Hearts} river. Friberg took it down with {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the rivered straight.

David Penly Eliminated in 6th Place (£41,250)

Penly walks the plank
Penly walks the plank
With Italian Pirate Max Pescatori making it 41,000 preflop, big blind David Penly took one quick glance at his cards before announcing, "All in," and sliding an extra 150,000 across the felt. Pescatori called quicker than a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat.

Pescatori = {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Penly = {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop must have affected Penly's bowel movements no end, and by the {Q-Spades} turn, he was drawing dead, as Pescatori had made a king-high straight. A {10-Clubs} river was therefore academic, and Penly was sent crashing out in sixth.
