Jakovljevic Saves His Stack

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Dejan Jakovljevic opened to 120,000 in the cutoff and was called by Marian Kubis in the small blind. The two players saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Kubis checked to Jakovljevic who continued for 110,000. Kubis just called and the {4-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Kubis checked again and Jakovljevic checked back. The {5-Spades} completed the board and Kubis slid in a bet of 335,000. Jakovljevic snap-called and Kubis rolled over {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the nuts. Jakovljevic threw his {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} into the middle of the table after flopping a set but is still alive with just under 400,000.

"Wow! Where is the rest of the pot?" Allen Kessler asked after seeing the two monster hands.

"I didn't want to gamble on the flop," Kubis replied.
