Gal Essentially Triples Up in Spectacular Hand

Level 5 : 200/400, 0 ante
Zoltan Gal
Zoltan Gal

On the three-way flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, the fireworks started over on table 123 and three players got their stacks in with Andreas Walnum holding the far biggest stack of them. Zoltan Gal tabled his cards and the dealer suddenly mucked them before other players at the table spoke up and confirmed what Gal had . His cards were retrieved out of the muck and the three-way showdown came as follows:

Nikolaos Lampropulos: {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Zoltan Gal: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Andreas Walnum: {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The magic {A-Diamonds} turn gave Gal a superior full house and he only needed to dodge the case deuce for quads of Walnum. A blank {J-Diamonds} came on the river and Gal knocked out Lampropulos while doubling his stack of 19,975 through Walnum.

Dahan Dusts Stack Off to Ondejka

Level 4 : 150/300, 0 ante
Asher Dahan in The COLOSSUS
Asher Dahan in The COLOSSUS

In a four-bet preflop, Asher Dahan and Daniel Ondejka clashed in a battle button versus small blind. More than 24,000 were in the middle with the flop showing {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} and the stacks went in. Dahan held the {A-}{4-}{2-}{2-} for bottom set and Ondejka had the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for top set.

Both the {6-Hearts} turn and {9-Spades} river brought no miracle and the stacks were counted, both had exactly as many chips and thus Dahan was sent to the rail.

Teusl Off to a Good Start

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Jessica Teusl
Jessica Teusl

The completed board showed {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Tomas Rous was all in and at risk. Jessica Teusl called and Rous confidently rolled over his {J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a flopped set and rivered full house. However, it was no good anymore as Teusl held {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} for the superior full house.

Early Double for Hamie

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Pedjman Hamie

Joining the action on the {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Martin Rothaermel bet 1,000 and was called by Pedjman Hamie. On the {9-Hearts} turn, Rothaermel bet 3,000 and Hamie raised the pot for 13,350, Rothaermel called.

The {2-Clubs} fell on the river and Rothaermel check-called all in to get shown the {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a straight by Hamie. Rothaermel, who had cashed on Day 1a, mucked {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{X-} and will likely be back in action soon.

Andreas Walnum also busted a few tables over at almost the same time, the Norwegian is expected to re-enter shortly.

It's Time for Omaha at King's Casino

The third event of the 2018 World Series of Poker Europe is off to a fantastic start at Europe's biggest poker arena in the King's Casino in Rozvadov, as yesterday's first starting day already surpassed the guaranteed prize pool of €100,000. After 230 entries in total in the first flight, another bumper field is expected and the guarantee may very well be doubled as a result.

Day 1b kicks off at 3 p.m. local time and all players receive 20,000 in chips. A total of 18 levels of 30 minutes each will be played with the late registration open for the first 10 levels, in which unlimited re-entries are available. The paid places of the Day 1b prize pool are expected to be reached in the final three levels of the night.

Dor Tal currently tops the counts after bagging up an impressive 643,000, well ahead of Peter Jaksland (343,000) and Michael Magalashvili (339,000). Among those that already punched their tickets for Day 2 are also Michael Soyza, Romain Lewis, Guillaume Diaz, Dutch Boyd and Chris Ferguson.

Familiar faces from near and far such as Shaun Deeb, Allen Kessler, Anson Tsang, Cord Garcia, Dario Alioto, Jeff Lisandro, Max Pescatori and Sebastian Langrock are all likely going to take at least one more shot at the first Pot-Limit Omaha bracelet of the festival.
