Jason Mercier - 227,300Day One Comes to a Close
Pot limit Omaha is a game notorious for attracting action junkies and today was no exception. 809 players started the day and immediately got to work with large chip stacks being built in short amounts of time and a flurry of eliminations happening throughout the day. In fact, so many eliminations that with only two minutes left in the last level we were down to the final 81 players – all of which are in the money.
Jason Mercier was able to grab a monstrous chip lead over the last few levels of the day where he abused short stacks at his table. He climbed all the way up to 227,000 – over 88,000 more than his closest competitor.
Action will resume tomorrow at 2pm PST and continue until a final table is reached. Join us here at PokerNews.com for all the action live, as it happens. -
