FTOPS Event #17: $200+16 NL Hold'em 4x Shootout 6-Max
Another pair of events ran on Thursday in the tenth Full Tilt Online Poker Series, as the tourney schedule winds closer to its big weekend conclusion. FTOPS Event #17, $200+16 NL Hold'em 4x Shootout 6-Max, drew 1,094 entrants, but ended up offering a nice overlay to its participants as it fell short of its $250,000 guarantee. Among the best finishers not reaching the final table were Rami "Arbianight" Boukai in 36th place ($1,125), Stefan Rapp in 40th ($750) and Mark "The Omaholic" Roland in 50th ($750). These six players advanced through the opening rounds to reach the finals:
Each player started the final with a stack of 547,000. At 3,000/6,000,750, TerenzHill was eliminated in sixth. Shoomie raised to 16,666 on the button and TerenzHill called from the small blind. The flop came and TerenzHill led out for 38,134, which Shoomie called. The hit the turn and TerenzHill led out for 75,000. Shoomie raised to 350,000. TerenzHill moved all in and Shoomie called with , drawing against TerenzHill's , which had turned a set. However, the river came the and made a straight for Shoomie. TerenzHill earned $6,000. DLizzle was the next one out at 8,000/16,000/2,000. On the button, DLizzle moved all in for 230,922 with and found action from Shoomie in the small blind with . The flop came and gave DLizzle outs to a flush, but the turn and river were blanks and DLizzle was out in fifth for $8,750. Falling in fourth place was justakid69. From the button, justakid69 moved all in with but ran into SNACKERS' . The board ran out and justakid69's tournament was over, as he cashed for $12,500.

By the time the 15,000/30,000/4,000 level arrived, BigDaddyKing had moved from last to first, and he then eliminated SNACKERS. On the button, SNACKERS opened to 67,777 and BigDaddyKing reraised to 150,000 from the big blind. SNACKERS responded by shoving all in for 996,866, and he was instantly called by BigDaddyKing, who showed to lead SNACKERS' . The board rolled out , sending SNACKERS to the rail in third for $18,300.
Heads-up play began with BigDaddyKing holding 2,660,973 in chips to Shoomie's 621,027. The battle ended at the 25,000/50,000/6,000. BigDaddyKing opened to 100,000 and was reraised to 321,321 by Shoomie. BigDaddyKing called and the flop came . Shoomie, first to act, moved all in for 840,915 and was called instantly by BigDaddyKing who showed . Shoomie's was in dire straits. The turn and river came and , eliminating Shoomie in second for $27,500 and making BigDaddyKing the winner of Event #17 for $43,750.

FTOPS Event #18: $300+22 Razz
FTOPS Event #18 marked razz's only stand-alone appearance in the series. The $300+22 affair drew 548 entrants to create a total prize pool of $164,400. Notable finishers included Kyle "kwob20" Bowker in 19th place for $1,233 and TheStein in 45th for $904.20. The chip counts at the start of the final table were as follows:

At 12,000/24,000/2,000, Browndog19 hit the rail. With a stack of 59,438, Browndog19 made a stand with 2-10-6 against OnTheRail15's A-5-8, but it was not to be for Browndog19, who fell to OnTheRail15's eventual 6-5 low. Browndog19 earned $2,466 for eighth. Chips can go quickly in razz and this was the case for Daniel "imabigkidnow" Kelly at the 15,000/30,000/2,500 level. Much of his stack was lost in a hand against TYGOP when TYGOP made an 8-7-6-5-2 low, besting Kelly's holdings. Daniel was eliminated the next hand, but added $3,616.80 in winnings to his excellent FTOPS X series. Once the 20,000/40,000/3,000 level started, Rainman1989 headed home as well. With 110,422 in chips, Rainman1989 was all in on fourth street with 9-2-4-9, but trailed Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn's 5-6-7-8. Rainman1989 could not catch up as VanDuyn made an 8-7-6-5-2 low to win the hand. Seventh place paid Rainman1989 $4,767.60.
Eliminated next was Joshua "pbdrunks" VanDuyn at 30,000/60,000/5,000. VanDuyn's last 215,856 went into the pot with 4-5-4 and eventually improved to a 9-7-5-4-A, but that was still beaten by Crisp86's 8-7-6-5-2. Pbdrunks collected $6,904.80 for fifth. OnTheRail15 was the next to be on the rail. All in after fifth street with 4-2-8-3-K, OnTheRail15 would only make a 10-8-4-3-2 low and could not beat TYGOP, who eventually made a 9-8-7-6-A to take down the pot. OnTheRail5 won $11,179.20 for fourth. ShawnFrie, on the short stack, fell in third place when his J-9-6-4-A was bested by TYGOP's 10-7-5-4-2. A payday of $18,084 went ShawnFrie's way.

The tourney ended at the 40,000/80,000/7,000 level. The closing hand saw the last of TYGOP's chips go in on sixth street, when he held 2-8-4-A-K-K to Crisp86's 5-A-5-4-9-3. Crisp86 his another three on seventh, by TYGOP paired his deuce and was left with a K-low hand, making him the runner-up for $25,810.80. Crisp86 collected $38,962.80 for his Event #18 triumph.
