Rodrigo Seiji Becomes a PokerStars Titan; Wins $93K

Rodrigo Seiji Sirichuk

The $5,200 Titans Event at PokerStars is the online poker giant's largest buy-in tournament of the week, an event that draws in the biggest names of the game. This week's Titans Event saw 69 players create a $345,000 prize pool, and Brazil's Rodrigo "seijistar" Seiji Sirichuk outlasted them all.

The compact field meant only the top nine finishers won a slice of the prize pool, so spare thought for tenth place finisher "dwhelan84" who burst the money bubble.

A whole host of stars occupied the final table's seats, and the waters become less shark-infested with each elimination. Michel "FreeLancerZZ" Dattini was the first of the finalists to find himself void of chips. Dattini's ninth-place finish came with $10,755 in prize money.

Tom "Jabracada" Hall ($12,314) fell in eighth, with Jon "apestyle" Van Fleet ($16,440) crashing out in seventh. Swedish poker legend Niklas "Lena900" Astedt ($21,950) busted in sixth, much to the delight of the surviving players, before Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado ($29,306), Bruno "great dant" Volkmann ($39,127), and "SerVlaMin" ($52,239) saw their tournaments end.

Heads-up pitted Seiji against Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo in a battle where the difference in prize money was almost $34,000. Despite this huge disparity, there was no deal struck, which meant Bonomo banked $69,745 when he fell in second, and Seiji collected the $93,118 top prize and title of champion.
