They say that all good things must come to an end, and that is the case in the latest Mystery Bounty Festival at 888poker. Only three numbered events are without their champion, including the $300,000 guaranteed Main Event, which concludes on March 26 under the watchful eyes of the 888poker Twitch channel.
The $300,000 guaranteed was reached thanks to 1,597 players buying in over the course of a dozen or so Day 1s. Only 251 of those starters progressed to Day 2, with Day 2 whittling the field down to the eight-handed final table.
Mystery bounties came into play from the start of Day 2, and 23 players bagged four-figure sums, with three locking in five-figure amounts.
Nineteenth-place finisher "AlCunningham" opened a mystery bounty envelope containing $12,000, as did "CPU0r," who reached the final table with enough chips for sixth place at the restart. However, New Zealand's "Flopzilla_XD" may have fallen in 46th place for $508, but one of the mystery bounties they secured weighed in at an impressive $30,000!

Although all the biggest mystery bounties have been claimed, the eight finalists who return to their seats at 7:00 p.m. GMT have plenty to play for. Nobody will take home less than $3,066 for their efforts, plus any mystery bounties they have accumulated along the way. The top three finishers lock in at least $13,297, with the champion securing a $24,749 payday.
Start-of-Day 2 chipleader "MMDpoker1" of Romania built on their impressive start and is the player to catch when the cards are back in the air. "MMDpoker1" has 3,882,204 chips, the equivalent of 78 big blinds, at their disposal. It would be quite the achievement to lead a tournament of this size from start to finish.
Germany's "kellerassel0" returns to the action second in chips with a 2,822,876 stack (57 big blinds), while the leader's fellow Romanian "AnitaKiraly" has 2,504,920 chips (50 big blinds) and takes their seat in the top three.
Only "Sheglov" of Ukraine is super short; when the action resumes, they have 495,525 chips (10 big blinds).
Mini Main Event Ends in a Three-Way Deal
While the $300,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event was edging towards its final table, the $50,000 Mini Main Event was busy crowning its worthy champion. A field of 2,736 players ensured the guarantee was blown away, with 888poker awarding $62,928 instead.
More than $11,600 of the pot was distributed to the top three finishers, who struck a deal at the tournament's business end.
Germanys "timotobias" is the player forever known to be this event's champion they scooped $3,871 in total. "ParttimeF1sh" finished second for $3,786, with "Hodor83" finishing third albeit it with $3,948 in prize money, the largest sum of the three dealmakers.
The tournament's biggest winner was "zendayushka" of Montenegro. They fell in 51st place but not before opening a golden envelope containing a $5,000 mystery bounty. In total, "zendayushka" walked away with $5,364.
