Biography

Lonny Weitzel is an American poker player from Texarkana, Texas, who is best known for winning the $1,000 Super Seniors event at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas for $356,494 and his first gold bracelet.

Wietzel had almost 200 in-the-money finishes between September 2013 and his bracelet victory in June 2025. His first five-figure haul came in January 2016, a $21,912 prize for finishing eighth in a $365 No-Limit Hold'em tournament at WSOP Circuit Choctaw. Five more $10,000+ scores came his way, including a win in the $400 No-Limit Hold'em Double Stack at the 2022 WSOPC North Carolina stop, which earned him $40,234.

At the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas, Weitzel's pocket eights came from behind to crack Damir Stefanic's pocket queens to capture the $1,000 Super Seniors title.
