Stern was one of 1,283 entrants in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super Turbo Bounty, a one-day event with rapidly increasing blinds. The tournament started at 2:00 p.m. local time on July 8 and ended at 5:40 a.m. the following morning, only two hours before Stern was due to fly home.
