101 Poker Richmond Details
In December 2021, Poker Hall of Famer Johnny Chan sold off his 88 Social poker room in Houston, Texas due to some financial issues and controversies that surrounded the business. Sanjeev Vora, an entrepreneur and local poker player, bought the card room, renamed it 101 Poker Richmond, and then renovated the facility to give it a more modern look.
The "Richmond" inclusion in the poker room name was so that poker players weren't confused. There is a separate 101 Poker room that has been around for a couple of years in a different area of town. Richmond is the name of the street where Vora's room is located.
That said, 101 Richmond and the original 101 do not share ownership. Instead, Vora partners with the original 101 for tournaments and that is the only connection between the two great poker rooms.
