Loute's Move at the Wrong Time

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Ran Shahar
Ran Shahar

Dario Marinelli raised first to act and was called four-ways including Sacha Loute, Ran Shahar and Aldo Monteleone. On the {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, action checked to Shahar on the button and he bet 75,000. Several folds later it was on Loute and he jammed for 185,000, which Shahar called to create the following showdown.

Sacha Loute: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Ran Shahar: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs} turn and {8-Spades} river were blanks and Loute hit the rail next.

Ramlal Basdeo Bubbles the Main Event in Bucharest

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ramlal Basdeo Bubbles
Ramlal Basdeo Bubbles

There were three all in and call in hand number 10 on the money bubble on three separate tables. Ramlal Basdeo was at risk and called two ways, and Zhiping Zeng bet the checked down board of {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} on the river. Cristian Tardea folded and Zeng showed {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the nut flush, Basdeo had {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for top set.

Another three-way all in emerged with Johannes Roumen at risk. He faced Alexandru Constantin and Marian Virlanuta, the latter bet the {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} river for 43,000 to force a fold from Constantin. VVirlanuta showed {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}, which Roumen had beat with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} to triple up.

Last but not least, a very short-stacked Denis Poteras was all in with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} out of the small blind and Mihai Gneonu showed {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} on the button. The board came {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and that left Basdeo as only seat open to become the bubble boy.

Demosthenous Busts With a Bad Beat

Level 16 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Demos Demosthenous
Demos Demosthenous

After having survived several all in showdowns with the inferior hand, the tournament ended with a bad beat story to tell for Demos Demosthenous, as this time he had a premium hand that didn't hold up. Demosthenous had been all in with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Laurence Ryan looked him up with the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The board came {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Ryan spiked a queen on the turn to deal the final blow.

Hatipoglu Eliminated by Rablou

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Bahadir Hatipoglu
Bahadir Hatipoglu

The preflop action is unknown but on a flop of {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, the fireworks kicked off between Vasile Rablou and Bahadir Hatipoglu. There was a raise to 32,000 in front of Rablou and Hatipoglu reraised to 85,000 out of the blinds. Rablou gave it some time and moved all in, which Hatipoglu sigh-called for a hefty 160,000.

Bahadir Hatipoglu: {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Vasile Rablou: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Hatipoglu picked up a ton of equity with the {9-Clubs} turn, but the {j-Diamonds} river ended the roller coaster ride of Hatipoglu with a big bang.

Parlafes Eliminated by Virlanuta

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Dany Parlafes
Dany Parlafes

Dany Parlafes lost a big pot in the previous hand and dropped to fewer than 50,000. Soon after, he faced a raise to 8,000 by Mihail Cuza and a call by big stack Marian Virlanuta from one seat over. Parlafes jammed for the last 45,500 and that forced out Cuza, however, Virlanuta made the call.

Dany Parlafes: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Marian Virlanuta: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Parlafes had plenty of outs and even drew to a chop via straight on the board, but ultimately came up on {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} to become the next casualty. Virlanuta pulled ahead of Derek Reid once more, who happens to sit on the very same table.

In a three-bet pot to the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, two bigger stacks clashed in Stefan Aurelian Gheorghe and Natalia Drytchak.

Stefan Aurelian Gheorghe: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Natalia Drytchak: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Gheorghe needed a heart to remain in contention, but shipped over his above-average stack to Drytchak after the {k-Clubs} turn and {a-Diamonds} river came up blank.

Andrei Racolta
Andrei Racolta

Andrei Racolta has not survived the first level of Day 2 and his title defense has come to an early end. According to Ran Shahar, Racolta three-bet jammed the button with {k-}{q-} and Shahar called with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Only a jack appeared on the flop, turn and river were blanks.

Carmen Zainescu also walked out of the tournament area and mentioned something about a battle of the blinds and being put all in by an opponent with jack-six suited.

Derek Reid

Derek Reid opened to 6,000 and was called by Bahadir Hatipoglu from one seat over. Stefanita Fechete three-bet to 19,000 and Reid moved all in to force a fold from Hatipoglu, while Fechete called for around 60,000.

Stefanita Fechete: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Derek Reid: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

"I had king ten suited," Hatipoglu added and they saw the board run out {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades} to end Fechete's run a few minutes into Day 2.
