Fireworks Between Boi and Ruida

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Lin Ruida
Lin Ruida

Lin Ruida is certainly trying to put his footsteps into the day as one of the most aggressive players and his stack speaks for itself.

When he lost yet another all-in, it wouldn't take long for him to get most chips back as he clashed with Paolo Boi.

Ruida faced the check-shove of Boi for 1,010,000 on the {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and made the call after he had invested 225,000 only.

Paolo Boi: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Lin Ruida: {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn made things spicy but the {10-Diamonds} river was a blank.

Soon after the duo was in a big pot to the {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Boi made it 200,000 to go. Ruida pushed all-in and Boi folded the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} face-up. "Nice fold," Ruida said and flashed {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for flopped quads.

Who Will Win the 2020 888poker LIVE Madrid €888 Main Event?

Fernando Pons
Fernando Pons

A long day of poker awaits for all those seeking to lift the winner trophy in the first major live poker event at the Casino Gran Via right in the heart of Madrid's city centre, as 66 players out of a 1,067 entry strong field remain in the 2020 888poker LIVE Madrid €888 Main Event.

After the late bubble rush cut the field into half in the final hour of play on Day 2, the leaderboard saw several players jump into a big stack and Italy's Marco D'Amico will return as the chip leader with 4,590,000, while Spain's Alvaro Puchol is not far behind with 4,230,000.

Arguably the biggest name remaining among the finalists is however former WSOP Main Event finalist Fernando Pons, who sits in third place with 3,470,000 and will aim to keep the trophy on home soil.

It won't be an easy ride for any of the contenders as the blinds will recommence at 25,000-50,000 with a big blind ante of 50,000, and the levels will last 50 minutes each for the remainder of the tournament. Some of the notables seeking victory in Madrid are Alex Montgomery (2,780,000), Ran Shahar (2,270,000), Adrian State (2,000,000), Bruno Hormigo (1,955,000), Daniyar Aubakirov (1,825,000), Claudio Di Giacomo (1,405,000), Stephen Elliott (1,305,000), Ignacio Lopez De Maturana (1,000,000), Antonios Onoufriou (710,000), and Miguel "Gandalf" Riera (540,000).

All players have €2,400 locked up as return for their investment thus far, but the top prize of €150,000 awaits to the eventual champion. Furthermore, event sponsor 888poker will also award a package worth $12,500 for the 2020 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas to the winner.

The action is set to resume at 2 p.m. local time in the side room of the poker floor which also hosts the live stream table, which will broadcast on a security delay of 30 minutes and hole cards displayed via the 888poker social media channels. For all the outer table action, the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor from start-to-finish.
