Costa Rica's "ImTriggered" Wins The XL Eclipse $300,000 Opening Event

After more than thirteen hours of play, Event #7 - $160 XL Eclipse Opening Event finally crowned a winner. It was "ImTriggered" from Costa Rica who claimed the victory and the first prize of $58,270.50 after beating "Tsipras" in the deciding heads-up.

The event, with a buy-in of $160, saw 1,700 players register and those players made 600 rebuys to get a total amount of 2,300 players. They created a total prize pool of $345,000 with 207 places paid. It took a while to get to the money but in the end, it was "707089" from Lithuania who was the last player finishing empty-handed.

After making the money it took a long time before the tournament was down to the last nine. After eleven hours the remaining nine players made the final table and went on to play for a $58,270.50 first prize. Ukraine's "Ignatiik" left the final table pretty quick after losing a big hand with ace-queen against ace-jack. A few hands later he busted in ninth place for $3,726.

"GetLuckyAK" from Canada wasn't so lucky on this final table and in his last hand, he lost all of his chips with pocket eights against pocket nines. The Canadian finished in eighth place for $6,555. After that, British players "HindaKrush" and "Binkasaurus" got busted in quick succession, finishing in seventh and sixth place.

It took a while for the next bust out, but then it went quick. In just a few minutes, "LucySagara70" (fifth, $16,387.50), "I_R_BABOON" (fourth, $22,425) and "89Diamonds" (third, $31,740) were sent to the rail by chip leader "ImTriggered". Later mentioned started the deciding heads-up with a big chip lead against "Tsipras".

Finland's "Tsipras" fought hard to come back in this battle but in the end, it was Costa Rica's "ImTriggered" who took the first prize of $58,270.50.
