"allinfds" Wins the 888poker XL Inferno Event #17 - $100,000 Guaranteed High Roller ($20,450)

After nearly nine hours of play, Mexico's "allinfds" outlasted a field of 249 entrants plus 72 rebuys to win the XL Inferno Event #17: $100,000 High Roller for $20,450.

The $320 tournament provided an extra $3,700 in added value to those that cashed thanks to the lofty $100,000 not being met with the buy-ins.

It took more than five hours for the money bubble to break. Brazil's "UchihaZuzou" got all the chips in the middle with pocket kings only to run into the pocket aces held by Austria's "franelf". The remaining 36 players were each guaranteed a $750 min-cash.

Among the players not to cash were 888poker Ambassadors Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren (92nd place) and Martin "MJacobson888" Jacobson (82nd place).

The two-hour final table began after "AnnaSanibel" jammed king-jack unsuccessfully into the pocket sevens held by Luis "paraFC" Faria to go out in 10th place for $1,600. "jansci89" entered the final table with the chip lead.

Despite entering the final table after winning a big hand, Faria was the first player to hit the rail in ninth place for $1,900. Faria first three-bet jammed sixes into the kings held by Ukraine's "SpielerKind". The remaining two big blinds left also went to the Ukrainian after Faria's jack-deuce suited couldn't get there against ace-king.

"SpielerKind" had the lead for a short while before "jancsi89" snagged it back with the help of eliminating "CraiEvryTime" (eighth - $2,500) and "GardinaD" (seventh - $3,500). Both of these players were registered at 888poker in Malta.

This didn't help "jancsi89" too much as he or she was the next player out. First "jansci89" gave the chip lead over to "LeetRunGoot" before the two got tangled up in a huge hand. "jansci" three-bet jammed more than 27 big blinds with tens and couldn't win a flip against the big slick held by "LeetRunGoot" to go out in sixth place for $4,500.

Russia's "Kaktus26rus" then eliminated Finland's "winlikefedor" in fifth place for $5,800 with ace-jack holding against queen-jack while "LeetRunGoot" kept piling on the chips and looked like he or she would run away with the tournament with nearly two-thirds of the chips in play with four players remaining.

"Kaktus26rus" then hit the rail in fourth place for $8,500 to set-up a marathon three way battle where all three players had the lead multiple times during the remainder of the match.

Eventually "alllinfds" was able to gain control and snag more chips than both his or her opponents combined. This player eliminated "LeetRunGoot" in third place for $11,300 with ace-three holding against nine-eight suited. After that heads-up play only lasted a minute with "allinfds" eliminating "SpielerKind" in second place for $15,000.

"jancsi89" Eliminated in 6th Place ($4,500)

Level 34 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

"jancsi89" three-bet jammed for 3.3 million with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and "LeetRunGoot" called with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

"LeetRunGoot" snagged nearly half the chips in play after the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Spades} gave him a pair on the river and "jancsi89" went from chip leader to out the door in sixth place for $4,500 in less than a blind level.

Brutal Bubble for "UchihaZuzou"

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 2,500 ante

Brazil's "UchihaZuzou" just bubbled the tournament. This player open-jammed eight big blinds with {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} before Austria's "franelf" over-jammed 14 big blinds with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

The {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board was unable to provide relief for the Brazilian and he or she is out of the tournament shy of the money. The remaining 36 players are each guaranteed a $750 payday.

"SkallePer58" Takes the Chip Lead

Level 22 : 7,000/14,000, 1,750 ante

"SkallePer58" just won a monster pot against "CalmRevolver".

"CalmRevolver" four-bet jammed for about 350,000 with {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} and was called by "SkallePer58" with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

This hand almost went the other way with "CalmRevolver" flopping two pair on the [jqqdac] flop. But the {10-Hearts} on the turn gave "SkallePer58" the straight and the {7-Hearts} on the river ended the tournament for "CalmRevolver".

Matveychuk Wins a Big Flip

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

A player opened from early position to 20,000 and Roman “EyeofSkadi” Matveychuk from one seat over and the player on the button both called. "Imyurfriend" jammed for 253,000 and the only player to call was Matveychuk who had slightly more chips.

"Imyurfriend": {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Roman “EyeofSkadi” Matveychuk: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

It was a coin flip to start but Matveychuk's tens held strong the entire way with the {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades} running out on the board.

It is game over for both 888poker Ambassadors. Martin "MJacobson888" Jacobson was nursing a short-stack for a bit and his table closed after he was sent to join fellow Ambassador Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren on the rail.

Tomato Tossed at "Dioszilla" While Bad Beat Served

Level 18 : 3,500/7,000, 875 ante

"Imyurfriend" opened from the cutoff for 14,000 with {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} before calling a jam from "Dioszilla" from the button of 159,593 with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

It was looking good for Diosvilla to double-up but instead this player hit the rail after his or her opponent hit a pair on the {9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} board.

To add insult to injury, before the hand was over, "Imyurfriend" wasn't all that friendly and tossed a virtual tomato at his opponent.

Lovgren Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 750 ante
Sofia Lovgren
Sofia Lovgren

It was looking good for 888poker Ambassador Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren to go deep. She would have had a monster stack if her kings held against an opponent's jacks. She was left short after that hand and her seat is now empty short of the money.

Jacobson Doubles

Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Martin "MJacobson888" Jacobson called off a nine big blind jam from "KROAT." with just a big blind behind if he lost the hand. Jacobson turned over {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and was behind the {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} held by his opponent.

The {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts} board gave Jacobson a flush and an effective double-up.

Bad Beat for Lovgren

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Sofia Lovgren
Sofia Lovgren

The table change hasn't gone well for Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren.

Martin "MJacobson888" Jacobson opened to 8,800 from early position. The player next to him called before "LeetRunGoot" jammed for 107,700. Lovgren jammed over the top for 173,512 and the rest of the table folded.

"LeetRunGoot": {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Sofia "sofialovgren" Lovgren: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Lovgren was in a position to win a massive pot and take out an opponent at the same time. However, her opponent nailed a set on the {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs} board and a full house after the {2-Clubs} paired the board on the turn. The {5-Clubs} on the river was unable to get Lovgren back in the hand and her stack took a big hit.
