Big Pot for "Big Y"

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 10,000 ante
Young Hilliard
Young Hilliard

On the last hand before the break, Edward Spaulding opened to 2,500, and got four callers.

The action checked to Spaulding on the {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, and Spaulding bet 9,500. Only Young Hilliard, in the cutoff, called.

With the pot already over 30,000, both players checked the {3-Clubs} turn. Spaulding put out 6,000, less than one-fifth pot, on the {10-Diamonds} river.

"You made a good call earlier," said Spaulding to Young. It's unknown what happened on the previous hand Spaulding was referring to, but in this hand Hilliard raised to 15,000. Spaulding called, but his {k-Spades}{j-Spades} was no good against Hilliard's {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the nut flush.

The $550 Main Event at Jamul Casino may be the capstone tournament of the Ante Up Poker Tour stop, but it isn’t the only event that’s taken place. There has been a slew of side tournaments, and we thought we’d take a quick look at each.

For instance, in the Ante Up Sweetwater Series Event #4: $100 Omaha 8 or Better, 57 entrants created a $4,560 prize pool (nearly double the $2,500 GTD) that was paid out to the top eight players.

A four-way deal was struck that ultimately saw Eric Bradford claim the title and $1,029 in prize money. Here’s a look at all those who cashed.
