Day 1b Started
Welcome back to the Crown Perth poker room as the first stop on Season 7 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour continues.
Today marks the second and final Day 1 flight on offer at ANZPT Perth.
There were 99 entries yesterday and we should see a similar number, or hopefully more, today.
Exactly 54 players survived on Day 1a with Macau-based Raiden Kan bagging up the chip lead with 80,450. Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang and Dider Guerin rounded out the top three with these guys setting the benchmark for today's action.
Cards are set to be in the air from 12:30pm local time and PokerNews will once again be on the floor providing live updates of the ANZPT Perth Main Event.
Stay tuned to find out who excels on Day 1b and how the prize pool ends up by the time registration closes after level 2.

We are running just a couple of minutes behind schedule here on Day 1b of the ANZPT Perth Main Event, but nonetheless, the cards are now in the air on Day 1b! There are currently 60 players registered. That number should increase as there is a steady line at the registration desk.
Just like last night, the plan on Day 1b is to play six 60-minute levels.
Players start with 20,000 in chips, blinds kick off at 50/100 and registration is open until the start of Level 3.
There are 10-minute breaks after every two levels.
It now that time that we go onto the tournament floor and find who is in the field.
There are now just over 70 players registered for Day 1b of ANZPT Perth.
That's a little smaller than at this point yesterday, but that doesn't meant there arent some notable players at the felt.
Not only are there Australians like Ken Demlakian, Nathan Gubieski, Minh Nguyen, Patrick Healy, Ash Warner and Henry Szmelcer, there are also some unexpected internationals like Jonas Mackoff and Martin Finger. Both these players were at the recent Aussie Millions and have clearly stuck around Down Under . Mackoff will be hoping to continue his form of the Aussie Millions which saw him win the $2,500 H.O.R.S.E event.

It's not too often that we see big names from the world-side poker scene on the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour but surprisingly Steve O'Dwyer and Stephen Chidwick have just taken their seats for Day 1b of ANZPT Perth. Clearly the close proximity to the Aussie Millions date, and perhaps the beautiful Australian weather, has kept these two superstars Down Under.
O'Dwyer is coming off a massive six months that saw him win the ACOP Super High Roller for just over US$1.8 million and the PCA Super High Roller for another US$1.8 million. Chidwick, meanwhile, has a pretty solid few months himself with a highlight being a fourth place in the $25,000 Challenge at the recent Aussie Millions.

We recently watched two of the more prominent players in today's field, Michael Guzzardi and Jonas Mackoff, lose a pot each.
Mackoff was up against one opponent on a board. We picked up the action on the turn with Mackoff check-calling a bet of 1,650. On the river, both players checked and Mackoff's went into the muck when his opponent showed .
Guzzardi lost some chips against one opponent on a board. Guzardi lef for 200 on the turn, which was called, and then Guzzardi check-called a bet of 550. At showdown, Guzzardi's cards went into the muck when he was faced with .

Slovenia's Casey Kastle is the latest international player we have noticed at the felt here on Day 1b of the ANZPT Perth Main Event. Kastle, ever the globetrotter, has been a big supporter of tournaments in Australia and would love another Australian flag on his Hendonmob record which is famous for having the most unique country flags.
