Chuck Gets Back In The Truck

Charles Chua
Charles Chua
Our final number of entries have been confirmed at 61, with the last minute entry being none other than the man who finished 2nd last night in the APPT Macau Main Event, the "Chuck Truck" himself, Charles Chua. Due to his late entry into the field, his starting stack was 18,500.

Chuck Truck Picks Up Where He Left Off

After winning close to US$300,000 last night, Charles Chua is off to a good start today. On his first hand of the day, he called a raise to 600 from Joe Hachem, in position. The button player also called. On a flop of {2-Spades} {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts}, Hachem made a continuation bet of 1,600 that only Chua called.

Hachem fired again on the {5-Diamonds} turn for 3,500. Chua remained undeterred and made the call. When the river came {9-Diamonds}, both players checked.

"Nothing," said Hachem. Chua opened just slightly better than nothing when he showed {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} for a pair of threes. With that pot, he's up to 25,000 and Hachem is down to 24,000.

Big Names Making Waves

JC Tran Accumulating Chips
JC Tran Accumulating Chips
Eric Assadourian is making a good defense of his APPT High Rollers title so far today. In a recent hand he caught a running full house with {J-?}{10-?} and got paid off by his opponent with a 3,400 chip bet on the river. He is up to 38,000.

JC Tran is also accumulating chips after he check-called bets of 3,500 on the turn and 6,000 on the river on a {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. His opponent said "two pair" as JC Tran flipped {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the straight to take it down and move up to 36,000.

Pantling Wins an Easy 2,500

When four players limp into a pot and three of them then call a raise, usually interesting things can be expected on the flop. Charles Chua, Julian Powell, Joe Hachem and David Chiu all limped in before Andrew Pantling raised to 800 from the small blind. All called except Powell.

The flop came down built for action -- {Q-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. Oddly, everyone checked. When the turn was the {A-Hearts}, Pantling led out for 2,500 and folded each of the other players.

Scott Wins A Race!

Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott
A player in early position limped into the pot before Andrew Scott raised it up to 800. Yevgeniy Timoshenko then popped it up to 2,600 from the big blind. The limper folded and Scott moved all in for another 13,925.

Timoshenko went into the tank and eventually the clock had to be called. With only five seconds left on the clock, Timoshenko announced a call.

Timoshenko: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Scott: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

"For one time let me win a race!" yelled Scott as the flop arrived {6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

"Yes, I finally win a race!" rejoiced Scott, as Emad Tahtouh had to remind Scott "It's not over yet!"

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and river the {9-Spades} giving Scott the double up to 34,000 as our early chip leader in Timoshenko falls to 24,000.

Kofi Gets Farkyed on the River

Kofi Farkye
Kofi Farkye
Kofi Farkye may be seeing red. In a raised flop of {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}, Farkye's opponent opened for 1,000. Farkye quickly reraised to 3,500 in position. His opponent made the call.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Again Farkye's opponent led into him, this time for 6,000. Farkye raised to 16,000, putting his opponent all in. He called and the cards were opened:

Farkye: {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Farkye had two pair, kings and jacks, but his opponent had a pair of queens with straight and flush draws. One of the draws filled when the river came {10-Hearts}, bringing a sigh of disgust and disappointment from Farkye. He retains just 3,900 chips.

Assadourian Sends Razor to the Rail

John Phan eliminated
John Phan eliminated
John "the Razor" Phan can start thinking about his next tournament. He took a raised flop of {4-Clubs} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} with Eric Assadourian.

"That's a real bad flop," said Assadourian. He then called when Phan bet 2,500. They went to the turn {5-Hearts}.

"Now what are you gonna do?" asked Assadourian. "Ship it in with nothing?" Phan did ship it all in, bringing a snap-call from Assadourian. Phan had an overpair with {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}, but Assadourian flopped top set with {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. The river was a brick to send Phan to the rail.

"Nice playing with you," said Assadourian as he stacked Phan's chips. Assadourian now has 47,000.

Timoshenko Eliminated! Scott Wins Another Race

Timoshenko Crashes Out
Timoshenko Crashes Out
It's been a wild couple of minutes on the Scott/Timoshenko table, and amazingly it has resulted in Timoshenko heading to the exit.

His demise came after Scott raised to 600 from early position and Timoshenko popped it up to 2,200 on the button. Scott then reraised another 5,000 and Timoshenko went into the tank once again.

After several minutes the clock was once again called on Timoshenko who declared that he is all in. It was an additional 17,325 to Scott to make the call and he also went into the tank.

After checking to see if he is allowed to expose a card (he was denied) Scott said to Timoshenko "Do you want me to call Yevgeniy?"

Emad Tahtouh had seen enough of the mind-games and called the clock on Scott -- the second time the clock had been called in the hand! Again with only five seconds left Scott decided to make the call.

Scott: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Timoshenko: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

It was the same race as a few minutes earlier. This time the cards were switched however the result was the same as the {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} board missed Timoshenko to send him crashing out of this tournament!

Scott wins another race to jump to a tournament-leading 60,000 chips!
