Just Do It

Quinn Do
Quinn Do
Someone get on the horn to David Steicke. He's in danger of losing his chip lead to Quinn Do. Do made it 3,000 to go preflop and was called by Johnny Chan. Both players checked the flop when it came down {5-Spades} {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. Do made a pot-sized feeler bet on the tun {Q-Spades}, a bet that Chan decided to call. When the river fell {3-Clubs}, Do came out for 11,000. Chan made the call but couldn't top the set of fives that Do made with {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}.

That pot pushed Do's stack to 143,000, just a few thousand off chip leader David Steicke.

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

David Steicke opened with a raise to 3,000 from early position with Joe Hachem and Andrew Scott making the call. Van Marcus then popped it up to 23,000 from the small blind, forcing a fold from the table.

"Ten more and you'd have seen a flop right?" said Marcus to Steicke.

"Yeh I'd have a crack!" laughed Steicke.

"That's exactly why I made it 20,000!" replied Marcus and the table started laughing.

There are five Australians on that table, with a couple more on the other two tables, and the players started talking about the possibility of an all-Australian final table!

"To have all Aussies on the final table is on target isn't it Chucky!?!" quipped Eric Assadourian.

Powell Can't Beat Ace High

Julian Powell raised from the cutoff to 2,700 and David Steicke made the call on the button. The two took a flop of {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and both players checked.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Powell fired out 4,000. Steicke made the call.

The river was the {9-Spades} and both players checked again. Steicke confidently flipped over {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for just ace high, but again his read was good as Powell tossed his cards into the muck.

Chan Still Scrapping

Johnny "Effin'" Chan
Johnny "Effin'" Chan
Don't count out Johnny Chan yet. He limp-shoved after Xuan Nguyen raised from the cutoff. Nguyen called with pocket tens, but Chan turned over pocket jacks. Both players missed the board entirely, coming as it did {7-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {5-Spades}. Chan's two pair, jacks and fives, were just slightly better than Nguyen's tens and fives. Since there's no prize for second place, the whole pot was shipped to Chan. He now has 52,000.

Pantling Can't Stand the Heat

Andrew Pantling
Andrew Pantling
Andrew Pantling got the party started with a preflop raise to 3,000, but it was Nam Le who shut off the lights. He called the raise from the big blind, then check-raised Pantling's flop bet of 4,500 to 10,500. With the board showing {4-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, Pantling called the see a ragged {9-Clubs} on the turn. Le then shoved all in for 21,000, which was too much for Pantling to contemplate calling. He folded.

After the hand, Le had 48,000 chips and Pantling had 51,000.

Ma Doubles Through Do

Wei Will Ma
Wei Will Ma
We caught the action on a flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} where Quinn Do had checked from the big blind to Wei Will Ma in the cutoff. Ma fired out 4,000 before Do check-raised to 14,000. Ma then moved all in and Do called.

Do held {10-Spades}{4-Spades} for two pair as Ma revealed {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the flush draw. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and river {9-Clubs} completing the flush for Ma and giving him a huge double-up to around 140,000, as Do was left to shake his head as he fell to 75,000.

Don't Discount The Chuck Truck

Dodgy Asian.
Dodgy Asian.
Charles "The Chuck Truck" Chua, who finished in second place in the APPT Macau Main Event, has increased his stack in the High Rollers Event to 72,000. He called a preflop raise to 3,000 by Andrew Pantling. Both players checked the {2-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} flop. When the turn came {9-Clubs}, Chua led out for 4,500. Pantling made the call.

Before the dealer could even burn and turn the river, Chua bet 10,000 dark. The river card was the {Q-Clubs}, sending Pantling into the tank for several minutes. He finally made the call, but couldn't come up with anything that beat Chua's trip nines, {A-Spades} {9-Hearts}.

"I run good," said a pleased Chua as he collected the pot.

Eric Assadourian wasn't so sure. "You've got this suspicious look."

Chua grinned and replied, "Yeah I'm just a dodgy Asian."

Do Rockets Past Nguyen

Xuan Nguyen Eliminated
Xuan Nguyen Eliminated
Quinn Do raised it up to 3,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Xuan Nguyen in the small blind, who popped it up to 12,000. Do said, "You know I don't like to fold," and made the call.

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Nguyen moved all in for his last 30,000 with Do snap-calling.

Nguyen was pushing with nothing but imagination as he revealed {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to be in deep trouble against Do's {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

The river was the {Q-Spades} and river the {9-Diamonds} to send Nguyen crashing out of the tournament as Do recovers some of the chips he lost recently to be back up to 120,000.
