Brotha D Eliminated

New Zealand's Godfather of Hip Hop, producer Brotha D has just been eliminated.

He was short-stacked and shoved with {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} from under the gun with the big blind making the call with {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The board bricked out {8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Brotha D was sent to the rail.

Yesterday Lynn Gilmartin caught up with Brotha D for a fascinating chat. Check out the interview here:

Running Good Like The Penguins

James Honeybone
James Honeybone
Grant Harris opened to 3,000 and James Honeybone pushed all in for 30,200. Yasuchika Kayano made an instant call and Harris folded.

Kayano: {A-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Honeybone: {A-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to make Honeybone's chances of survival grim. The {q-Hearts} hit the turn to give him outs to a gutshot and he hit it on the river {j-Clubs}.

"Today may well be my lucky day," said Honeybone who is wearing his Pittsburgh Penguins NHL jersey in the hopes of running good like the currently 6-1 Penguins.

Levy Tardy

One interesting table draw here sees Australians Emad Tahtouh, George Moussa, Grant Levy and Kane Sherwell all scheduled to sit next to each other. The only problem with that at the moment is that Grant Levy has yet to show up for play.

With that table one of the first to break this afternoon, perhaps the Levy vs Tahtouh clash won't unfold.

King and Sing Start Well

A couple of New Zealand's favourite sons in Dan Sing and Mike King have both improved their chip counts in the first level of play.

Sing hit a set with his {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to triple up on a board of {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, while King found a double up with pocket jacks holding against an opponent's pocket sevens.

Sing is up to 30,000 with King up to 45,000.
