Tommy Le Eliminated

Tommy Le
Tommy Le
When we got to Table 2 we thought, based on the board, that Tommy Le and Batsuren Tserendorj must have gotten the chips in on the flop. But according to Terry Fan, that wasn't the case. Le open-shoved from under the gun and was called by Tserendorj from the small blind. Le showed down {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} against Tserendorj's big ace, {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}. The flop? A nice sweat-inducing {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {A-Spades}. Tserendorj had top pair while Le was looking for running cards or a single diamond. But the board bricked {5-Hearts} and {4-Clubs} to send him on his way.

Tserendorj is the last of the Mongolians still remaining in the tournament.

Always Wait for the River

"Yeeeeeeeeees!" said Martin Lundegren, popping out of his chair. He had made a desperation shovee with {J-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}, then flopped a flush {6-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} after Phillip Willcocks called.

"I have a diamond," Willcocks noted, pointing at his {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. And on cue, the turn fell {2-Diamonds} to give Willcocks a nut flush.

"Noooooooooo," said Lundegren in despair. He was down to one single out the {4-Diamonds}, to stay alive, but it wasn't to be. The river fell {8-Clubs} to send Lundegren to the rail.

"Always wait for the river," Rody Kaka chided Lundegren with a smile.

Aces, Kings and Queens - Kings Trump All

Preflop, Dustin Bowman opened to 15,000 and was three-bet to 30,000 by Raliegh Harness. David Hilton took it upon himself to four-bet to 60,000 from the small blind and action folded to Bowman who unleashed all in, covering both Hilton and Harness.

Harness thought for a moment and called, before Hilton went deep into the tank. Eventually he announced, almost in a whisper, "I call".

Bowman: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Hilton: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Harness: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

A huge crowd gathered around the table to watch the end of the monster pot. They were in awe as the dealer revealed the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop to put Hilton in control of the hand.

That shock was short-lived, replaced by another jolt when the {k-Spades} hit the turn to make Hilton quads and give him an insurmountable lead in the hand.

The {j-Hearts} was the brick river.

Bowman drops to around 130,000. Hilton is up to about 650,000. Harness is eliminated.

Delisle Doubles Bowman

Dustin Bowman is back over 200,000 courtesy of a double through from Jerry Delisle.

On a {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop Delisle led out 60,000 and Bowman moved in for 86,000. Delisle went into the tank before calling the extra.

Delisle: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Bowman: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Bowman would hold up through the {7-Clubs} turn and {6-Clubs} river to double up to about 240,000.

Jerry Delisle's Straight Doesn't Come In

We're down to three tables after the recent elimination of Jerry Delisle. Delisle opened for 20,000 from late position and was called by small blind Allih Bansuan. Bansuan led out for 50,000 on a dry board, {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {6-Hearts}. Delisle responded by moving all in. After getting a count (112,000; 62,000 back) Bansuan called with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Delisle showed a straight draw, {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts}. That draw didn't hit on the {4-Clubs} turn or the {3-Spades} river.

With Delisle's elimination, the tables are once again eight-handed.

Rody Kaka is back in contention after grabbing a double through Sim Somyung.

Kaka holding {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts} got all of his chips in preflop against Somyung's {A-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Kaka moves up to 280,000. Somyung is down to 130,000.

Fan's Weak Lead Doesn't Scare Bumpas

Brian Bumpas

Pots are all massive now with blinds at 4,000 and 8,000. There were 80,000 chips in the pot preflop for a had on Table 2 contested by Brian Bumpas and Terry Fan. Bumpas checked a flop of {3-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs} to Fan, who made a roughly half-pot bet of 45,000. Bumpas quickly announced that he was all in, forcing Fan to surrender his hand.
