Lin Gets Aggressive

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

With over 17,500 already in the pot and the board spread out {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} the player in the big blind checked his option.

Celina Lin was his opponent in the hand and she thought for a minute before splashing out 12,000 in chips.

A minute passed before the player in the big blind mucked his hand relinquishing the pot to the PokerStars Team Pro.

Lin moves up to 63,000 in chips just before the commencement of the second level of play.

Who Has to Show First?

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

With the {2-Diamonds} exposed and the flop reading {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Xing Zhou led for 1,500 from the button and the initial raiser in the cutoff seat let go. Soon after Zhou got involved in another hand after raising from early position and finding one caller in the big blind. Zhou fired a bet of 1,200 on the {8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop after it was checked to him and did so again for 1,500 on the {5-Spades} turn.

His opponent check-called and the {7-Spades} river completed the board. Both players checked and the player in the blinds was unsure who had to show his cards first. Floor was called and not the last aggressor but the first player after the button was to show first. Zhou was shown the {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the Chinese mucked.

Sixes Good for Smith

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

After a raise to 725 and a call, Asa Smith made the call out of the big blind and the flop came {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. The Brit check-called a bet of 1,100 by one of the opponents whereas the initial raiser mucked. Both the {J-Diamonds} turn and the {7-Clubs} river were checked down and Smith showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

Zhou’s Killer Set

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

We arrived at the table just as the player under the gun raised it up to 800. He was called by the player in the hijack before Xing Zhou bumped it up to 3,000 form the button. The raise only interested the player in the hijack who made the call before both players watched the flop come down {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The player in the hijack checked prompting Zhou to throw out another 5,000 in chips. The bet was called before the {q-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Both players opted to see a free card and watched as the dealer rolled over the {a-Hearts} on the river.

After facing a third check, Zhou splashed out a bet totalling 12,050. His opponent eyed off his stack before moving all in. Zhou was covered but made the call for his remaining 32,050 in chips.

He then watched as his opponent confidently turned over his {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a flopped set. Zhou then quickly revealed his {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for higher set.

The 2012 ACOP Champion is enjoying a great start to the day as he moves up to just short of 82,000 in chips.

Won'g Aces Score First Elimination

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

The first player has been eliminated close to the end of level two and the chips went to KC Wong. As confirmed by Wong and table neighbor Sam Higgs, it was the former who opened to 600 and the opponent clicked it to 1,200. One player called and then Wong reraised to 3,600 before calling a squeeze to 8,800.

On a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, Wong faced a bet of 10,000 and moved all in to put ultimate pressure on his sole oppponent. Wong received a call and tabled his {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} whereas the other player only held {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Both the {7-Hearts} turn and {K-Diamonds} bricked and Wong is now the chip leader.

Bad Start for Tan

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Darian Tan only has two yellow T-5,000 chips left and raised from the cutoff for 700. He received two calls and then got through with a continuation bet of 800 on the {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop. The Malaysian has a lot of catch-up ahead though if he wants to make a deep run in this tournament.

Anti-Climax for Mooney

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

World Series of Poker Asia Pacific Main Event champion Scott Davies has taken his seat and Geoff Mooney was moved to the very same table a few minutes ago. It was the latter who was involved in a big pot and there were already 25,000 in the middle of the table until the {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} turn.

Mooney moved all in and was called by an opponent to table his {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. The table broke out in laughter when the other player revealed his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and the {10-Hearts} river was already meaningless, a split pot was guaranteed.
