Andersson and Jung Double

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 300 ante

Pete Chen's seat is empty and he didn't move tables but rather ran out of chips a few minutes ago. Tang Jung Jung was more fortunate with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} of an opponent after flopping the nut straight and even turning a flush on a {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board. Upon asked, Jung said that the chips actually went in preflop though.

Peter Andersson also doubled up his short stack, with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} versus {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} in a preflop all in situation. The {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} flop was a huge sweat for the Swede though.

Wittendorff and Raut Stacked

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Celina Lin has been moved to the table with Xing Zhou, but they are currently not making the headlines in terms of chips. That spotlight belongs to Kim Wittendorff from Denmark and Rajeev Raut of India right now. "I have just been winning some pots here and there, "Wittendorf had to say.

As for Raut, he just flat-called a raise to 3,600 in the small blind and then check-folded to the all in of the initial raiser on the {9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop. The Indian suspected a draw but elected to fold and was sure enough shown {J-Spades}{10-Hearts} by his opponent.

Yu's Opponent Trips Up

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We arrived at the table to see the board showing {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and around 27,000 in the pot.

Winfred Yu checked his option from the big blind before his opponent threw out 22,000 in chips.

Yu thought for a minute before moving all in for 34,600. His opponent wasn't to impressed with the raise but made the call. Yu then tabled his {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trip jacks and watched as his opponent reluctantly rolled over his {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

The pot was pushed over to Yu after the {6-Clubs} completed the board. Yu now has 96,000 in chips.

Smith Eliminated

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Asa Smith moved all in for his remaining 12,400 in chips and was called by the player on the button.

Smith: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

No help would come for Smith as the board ran out {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} to see him eliminated from the tournament.

The Sun is Shining

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

It was not 100% certain whether or not the short stack just moved all in from early position for 20,000 chips or then got it in when Sheng Sun raised out of the big blind, but the chips were in preflop either way. The short stack held {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Sun scored the knockout with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} after improving on a {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades} board.

One hand later, Yaxi Zhu moved all in for what looked like 25,000 with the {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Sun called in the small blind with {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and that was two in a row for the Chinese.

The triple knockout didn't take place though. Thomas Ward raised to 3,200 from under the gun and picked up three callers including Sun on the button. All four players checked the {7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop before Ward bet the {5-Clubs} turn for 6,000. Sun and the player in the big blind called, only the New Zealander paid off the 16,500 value-bet by the player in the big blind after the {4-Spades} river though. Ward was unable to beat the {6-Hearts}{8-Spades} of his opponent and lost some change.

Wittendorff Cleaning Up

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

From early position, Xing Zhou got the remainder of his short stack of around 18,000 chips in with the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and table chip leader Kim Wittendorff looked him up with the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} out of the blinds in one of the last hands before the recent break. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and the Danish Dynamite remains atop the overall counts.
