Jun Bao Eliminated in 12th Place (HKD$152,600)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jun Bao
Jun Bao

Jun Bao kicked things off with a raise to 60,000 from under the gun and was called by Weiyi Zhang in the cut off. The two then watched the flop come down {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} before Bao checked his option. Zhang threw out a 85,000 continuation bet which was called before both players opted to check the {2-Clubs} on the turn.

After the river produced the {4-Spades}, Bao instantly moved all in for 387,000 in chips. Zhang asked for a count before thinking about his decision for over a minute. He eventually made the call, which ended up being the right one.

Bao reluctantly rolled over his {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} for ace-high before Zhang slammed his {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} onto the table. The pot sees Zhang move up to 1.2 million in chips.

Quick eliminations in succession means we missed how the action went down that saw Nicolas Cardyn fall in 13th place.

It was relayed back to us that Cardyn committed his chips in pre flop holding {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was up against Cheng Ho’s {k-}{q-}.

Unfortunately for Cardyn the flop brought a queen and the turn a king to see him fall to two pair sending him to the rail to collect HKD$130,800 for his efforts.

Chris Yeow Chung Chong

Chris Yeow Chung Chong raised to 40,000 from the hijack before Weiyi Zhang moved all in for 350,000 from the cut off. Both the button and blinds folded their hands as the decision fell back on Chong. He thought for a few minutes before making the call for his tournament life.

Chong: {A-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Zhang: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Zhang was in command with the pair and would hold as the board brought no aces or jacks to see Chong hit the rail in 14th place.

Pot Of The Day

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The action folded around to Fan Zhao in the small blind who completed the call before Yat Wai Cheng raised it up to 60,000 from the big blind. The bet was called and both players watched the flop come down {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

Zhao once again checked before Cheng threw out a continuation bet totalling 80,000. The amount was called resulting in the {2-Diamonds} falling on the turn. Zhao continued the theme of checking prompting Cheng to slide out 180,000 in chips. This time Zhao came over the top with a bet to 400,000 which sent Cheng into the tank. Some time passed before the bet was called before the {10-Clubs} completed the board.

A final check from Zhao saw Cheng reach for his chips, betting out another 300,000. Zhao didn't seem highly pleased with the play as he mucked his hand moments later.

Cheng moves up to 1.5 million in chips following the hand.

Tan Doubles Through Lee

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Alex Xiang Wei Lee raised from under the gun and Shen Ming Yin called out of the small blind before Choon Siang Tan shoved for 218,000 from one seat over. Lee made the call while Yin got out of the way and they tabled their cards:

Lee: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Tan: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop changed nothing whatsoever while Lee than picked up some further outs with the {8-Hearts} turn, now having a gutshot. The dealer burned and turned the river card and it was the {K-Clubs}, ensuring a double up for Tan.
