Mykhatso Busts Zhu in Two Hands

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Yaxi Zhu
Yaxi Zhu

Within two hands, Yaxi Zhu sent over all her chips to table neighbor Dominic Mykhatso. The first hand saw her open-shove the small blind with {J-}{6-} and the equally short-stacked Mykhatso called with {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} to hit a straight on the {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board.

One hand later, Sam Ng limped, Zhu moved all in for her last 4,000 and Mykhatso shoved out of the small blind for 54,900. "If you win, you bust two players," the Canadian grinned over to Ng but ultimately got a fold. Mykhatso won the hand with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} versus {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} on a board of {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}.

Yu Busts Li and Gets More

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

In a three-way all in, Winfred Yu had the best possible scenario with holding the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and finding short stack Yan Li at risk with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Even better was the fact that Mital Chandihok also called his shove for 58,600 with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Yu shot up all the way to 160,000 after starting the day with less than starting stack.

Three Players All In; None Out

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Seung Soo Jeon had three-bet to 11,500 and Nicandro Filart moved all in for 39,700 before Yang Zhang was to act. He announced all in according to himself but the dealer only understood call, which left the Chinese with 17,200 behind. Zhang started arguing but the call stood and they proceeded to the {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop.

Zhang moved all in and Jeon called.

Filart: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Zhang: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Jeon: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The former big stack had the worst hand and the {3-Spades} turn and {7-Diamonds} river changed nothing to keep everyone alive.

The Maniacal Norwegian

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Svein-Jorgen Kristensen
Svein-Jorgen Kristensen

Playing a loose-aggressive style has paid dividends for Svein Jorgen Kristensen once again.

The maniacal Norwegian has had his ups and downs throughout the day, playing a wild and swingy style, but he has now pushed past the 300,000 mark and reserved a spot amongst the leaders.

"I'm just playing good, flopping hands and people are calling," he told PokerNews.

In fact, Kristensen picked up aces and got paid, then limped {k-}{2-} and flopped trip dueces to collect yet another pot on the way to 330,000 now.

Kagawa Bows Out

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The board was almost rushed away and Rintaro Kagawa let out an "oh my god" after his {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} were cracked. It was Rolf Galasen who had the {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and made a straight on the {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board to boost up his stack further just before the end of the previous level.

The Norwegian was also just handed a bottle of wine by APPT President Danny McDonagh after having won a side bet yesterday. Running good, most definitely.

Im Snatches the Lead

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Vivian Im
Vivian Im

PokerStars Team Pro Vivian Im has grabbed hold of the chip lead after running over Dong Il Kim in a huge pot.

The hand began with Im raising it up to 4,300 and a third player three-betting to 10,600. Kim cold called before Im four-bet, making it 38,000. The raiser folded, but Kim made the call, going heads-up with Im to a {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop.

Im c-bet, making it 29,000, and Kim made the call. They both checked the {2-Clubs} turn, but when the {4-Diamonds} river came down, Im fired again, making it 54,500. Kim decided to give up, handing Im a pot that pushed her stack up to just under 400,000.

Ng Gets Big

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

After a raise in late position, Sam Ng flat-called in the small blind and so did Inge Forsmo in the big blind. On the {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, Forsmo check-raised the bet of the initial preflop aggressor from 7,500 to 25,000 and Ng check-called whereas the other player folded.

Ng check-called 30,000 on the {Q-Clubs} turn and then moved all in after the {Q-Diamonds} river. Forsmo mucked his cards and Ng sat there, shocked and wanted to have a call badly. He then wanted to show the cards only to this very blogger but that's against the rules. In table chat he then said to everyone "nine nine", which means he would have flopped quads.
