Bluff Gone Wrong for Liu

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Changyang Liu
Changyang Liu

Changyang Liu, the third-place finisher of the first 2019 APPT Jeju High Roller, just lost half his stack after a bluff in the river that got called.

The board was reading {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, Liu was in the under the gun seat, while his opponent was on the big blind. The big blind had bet 16,500 chips and Liu popped it up to 70,000, which was essentially all in for the other player.

After around five minutes in the tank, the other player finally called showing {k-Clubs}{10-Spades} with top pair on the river, which was good as Liu had {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for just ace-high.

Liu is now down to 120,000 chips.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Sahil Chuttani
Sahil Chuttani

Sahil Chuttani was in the cut-off and raised to 15,000 after a limp from an early position player. Everybody folded and the limper called with the {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} falling on the flop. Both players checked and the {k-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Chuttani bet 28,500 after his opponent's check and he got called.

The {7-Spades} completed the board and the river and Chuttani bet 70,000 this time, after another check from his opponent. After around six minutes in the tank, Chuttani asked for time and the moment the tournament director arrived on the table, Chuttani's opponent called.

The Indian player was bluffing with {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and his opponent took a nice pot with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Junjie Wang Cracks Aces

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Junjie Wang was in middle position and the under the gun player shoved for 50,000 in chips. Wang popped it up to 100,000 and everyone else folded.

Wang was in a tough spot with nines versus his opponent aces and the board didn't change anything up until the turn. The river, though, was a nine and Wang has built a pretty big stack.

Jiang Chen Loses a Pot

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jiang Chen
Jiang Chen

The winner of the first 2019 APPT Jeju High Roller, lost a big portion of his stack in a three-bet pot. An opponent raised to 11,000 from middle position and Chen from the next seat to his left made it 37,000 to go. The rest of the table folded and the initial raiser called, with the dealer bringing the {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} on the flop.

Chen bet 35,500 after his opponent's check, who called and the {a-Diamonds} fell on the turn. This time both players checked and the {8-Hearts} was the last card of the board.

Chen's opponent tanked for a couple of minutes until another player on the table asked for time, and then bet 120,000. This bet prompted Chen to throw instantly his cards to the muck, having 160,000 chips left behind.

Alexander Braeunig

Alexander Braeunig lost his chips a couple of spots before the payouts in the most classic race of poker.

He was in the big blind and saw a raise and a three-bet before him, shoving his stack of around 100,000 in the middle. The initial raiser fold and the three-bettor called with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, while the German player was holding {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Braeunig lost the chance to get paid in the Main Event.

48 players still in the field, with 41 guaranteed a payout, based on the structure, which means they are getting closer to the bubble.
