Phan Rivers a Boat

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Three players invested 1,400 each to the {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop on which Keita Minami folded when facing a bet by Joshua Norvock in the big blind for 1,300. Quoc Huy Phan had other plans in the small blind and check-raised to 3,500 for Norvock to call.

On the {q-Hearts} turn, Phan bet another 4,000 and earned a call before he bet the {6-Diamonds} river for 5,000. Norvock called once more and Phan rolled over the {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a full house to win a very healthy pot.

Lim First Casualty of the Day

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

There had been all-in jams already but none of them called. However, that changed at the end of level one as Chhay Lem Lim became the first casualty of the day. His stack now belongs to Sweden's Jonas Magdalinski while Norway's Ole Kristian Lunde also took a big chunk off Hassan Siddiq on the same table as well.

In a battle cutoff versus small blind, Mohamad Abbouchi and Sofia Lovgren created a pot of more than 12,000 to the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} on which Lovgren fired a bet worth 7,000. That was enough to win the pot right there as Abbouchi sent his cards into the muck.

Lunde Busts Zhao

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The cards were on their backs on a {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop with Yu Qi Zhao as the player at risk for more than 21,000 versus Ole Kristian Lunde.

Yu Qi Zhao: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Ole Kristian Lunde: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {7-Clubs} turn gave Lunde the straight and the {a-Diamonds} river failed to complete the flush draw of Zhao. However, the dealer initially pushed the pot to the wrong dealer after which Lunde loudly complained to floor staff and could barely be calmed down.

Easy Pot for Nguyen

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Table one recently opened and several players who were eliminated on Day 1a sat down. Among them was also Huu Dung Nguyen, who raised it up preflop and was called by Super High Roller champion Gary Thompson. The latter checked the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop and Nguyen checked it back.

On the {a-Hearts} turn, Thompson check-folded to a bet.

Soon after that, Paul Newey stormed out of the tournament area after he had been eliminated from the same table.

Unger Loses Some to Appledorf

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Three ways to the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Kenneth Unger and Howard Appledorf both invested 2,000 each while Aladin Reskallah folded. Both players checked the {j-Hearts} turn and Unger bet the {7-Hearts} river for 1,000. Appledorf called and won the pot with the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, as Unger only held {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for an inferior pair.

Douhan Forces Out Chen

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Dazhang Chen had been enjoying a massage ever since sitting down and his table also includes Brett Pullen and Matt Douhan. The latter tangled with Chen just now as they created a pot of around 9,000 to the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} turn. Douhan overbet for 15,000 and Chen folded after a few seconds of consideration.

Sai Gets Reskallah to Fold a Flush

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Benjamin Sai
Benjamin Sai

In a battle hijack versus button with around 10,500 in the middle to the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Benjamin Sai pushed all-in for what appeared to be 24,200. Aladin Reskallah was in the tank for a long time and ultimately bemoaned a very tight fold, exposing the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

"Good fold, he has the ace-high flush or a full house," Sofia Lovgren remarked. "Why would you shove a full house?" Reskallah remarked and then asked his opponent if he could beat a flush, to wish Sai shook his head.
