Chang Jams Into Nguyen

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 15,000 ante

Hoa Thinh Nguyen raised in the cutoff and Yu-Chung Chang three-bet to 100,000 on the button. Nguyen then made it 248,000 to go for Chang to quickly jam.

His opponent tanked for a short while and then folded as Michael Soyza exclaimed "show the bluff, Nevan!"

Suddenly and with a smile on the face, Chang had a fake shake in his hands and that exposed the cards to Nguyen as he then revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to everyone.

"No bluff, just a gamble," he added.

Jean-Robert Autran
Jean-Robert Autran

Jean-Robert Autran pushed all-in for the second time in a row and this time, he was called by Alexander Puchalski in the big blind.

Jean-Robert Autran: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Alexander Puchalski: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The French rail bemoaned a slow roll by big stack Puchalski, who then flopped best on {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} to leave Autran on the ropes. There was a lifeline on the {j-Diamonds} turn with a double gutshot but the {3-Spades} river ended the run of Autran in 15th place for $5,989.

Out of the small blind, Jiazhi Zhong pushed all-in for 172,000 and he was looked up by Michael Soyza in the big blind.

Jiazhi Zhong: {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Michael Soyza: {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop had Zhong on the ropes and the {9-Clubs} turn ended his run in 14th place, Soyza then spiked the {k-Hearts} river for trips when he didn't need to. Zhong receives a cash prize of $5,989.

Hoa Thinh Nguyen Eliminated in 13th Place ($6,782)

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 15,000 ante
Hoa Thinh Nguyen
Hoa Thinh Nguyen

Michael Soyza raised to 32,000 and Hoa Thinh Nguyen called on the button. Yu-Chung Chang then three-bet to 200,000 in the small blind and Soyza called. Nguyen snap-jammed for nearly 500,000 and Chang piled it in as quickly.

"How much is that?" Soyza asked and Chang instantly shot back with a "I cover you".

"I know you cover me. Okay, okay, I fold," Soyza announced and mucked the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Hoa Thinh Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Yu-Chung Chang: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop cemented the lead for Chang while Nguyen earned some thin hope with the {q-Spades} turn. However, the {6-Clubs} river brought no miracle and Nguyen departed in 13th place for $6,782.

Updated Counts on Table Two

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 15,000 ante

The pots on table two are significantly smaller as Alexander Puchalski retained the biggest stack ahead of Sofia Lovgren-Fullmer. It was the latter who defended the big blind against an under-the-gun raise by Quoc Dinh Nguyen for 32,000 and then check-folded the {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop to a continuation bet.

Back(house) to the Grind for Soyza

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 15,000 ante
Chris Backhouse
Chris Backhouse

Chris Backhouse defended against Michael Soyza and check-called a bet on the {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. On the {4-Spades} turn, Backhouse checked again and Soyza bet 110,000. The Brit then jammed all-in and Soyza asked for the bet to be pulled in to determine how much more the shove was for.

That happened to be 349,000 on top and Soyza used one time bank extension before making the call.

Chris Backhouse: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Michael Soyza: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"Oh wow ..." Soyza sighed with a dry smile on the face as Backhouse had locked up the double already, with the {j-Hearts} river becoming a formality.

"Back to the grind," the Malaysian mentioned as he dropped below a million in chips and was surpassed by Backhouse.

Akshay Kapoor
Akshay Kapoor

Nam Hyung Kim raised to 35,000 and Akshay Kapoor then three-bet to 100,000 out of the big blind. Kim mulled it over for a few seconds and pushed all-in as Kapoor snap-called.

Akshay Kapoor: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Nam Hyung Kim: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"Zurvan, I have kings versus queens," Kapoor announced to Zurvan Tumboli who was on the final three players in the Flipout Side Event up on the feature stage. His countryman came down to witness the showdown and saw the board run out {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} to award a double for 489,000 to Kapoor.

Zdravko Duvnjak Eliminated in 12th Place ($6,782)

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 15,000 ante
Zdravko Duvnjak
Zdravko Duvnjak

Akshay Kapoor opened the action with a raise to 32,000 and then instantly called the shove by Zdravko Duvnjak from one seat over for just shy of 200,000.

Zdravko Duvnjak: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Akshay Kapoor: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop brought no help and a railbird from the Philippines predicted a deuce next, which is what came with the {2-Clubs} turn. A three was requested by the same person but they were also happy about the {4-Diamonds} river as Renniel Galvez on the other table had locked up a pay jump.

Duvnjak was eliminated as he had to settle for 12th place, which comes with a payday of $6,782.
