Welcome back for what will no doubt be an exciting Day 3, here at the 2014 PokerStars.net APPT Macau Main Event from the picturesque City of Dreams.
The money-bubble burst in the final level of last night’s play, with Frangky Tegoeh finishing empty handed. Nine eliminations followed up until the end of play, with each player receiving HK$38,000 for their efforts.
Coming into today as the chip leader will be Daniel Demicki, who captured the lead in the final stages of the day. Close behind him is Jiajun Liu who held the lead for most of the day, as well as Hao Tian. He’ll be hoping to make a deeper run in this tournament, after finishing in 7th place in last year’s event.
Others to keep an eye on are Australian’s Billy “The Croc” Argyros and Michael Kanaan, Day 1b chip leader Peter Chan, 2014 APPT Seoul runner-up Christian Haggart and poker pro J.J. Liu.

With the opening announcements complete, the initial hand of the day is underway.
It didn't take long to witness the first elimination of the day. Steve Yea moved his remaining 13,000 chips into the middle from under the gun. He was called by Jean Marie Peyron from late position. The rest of the table folded and the hands were tabled.

Yea started with the lead, but it didn't last long when the flop gave Peyron trips. Yea was unable to get the cards he needed to steal the lead back and headed to the rail.

We arrived at the table as Billy "The Croc" Argyros opened to 12,500. He was called by Peter Chan in the hijack, Shengqing Zhu on the button and Maurice Tan in the blinds.
The flop came down and Tan checked. Argyros threw out a continuation bet of 30,000 which only interested Chan. The on the turn saw both players check, before the completed the board.
Argyros checked his option. Chan reached for his chips and confidently bet out 50,000 but was snap-called by Argyros. Chan turned over his for top pair, but it was enough against Argyros' .

The action started with Henrik Tollefsen betting out 10,500 from the hijack. Daniel Demicki made the call from the small blind, as did Hongxing Yu on the big blind.
The flop came down and the blinds checked over to Tollefsen who threw out another 12,000 in chips. Demicki made the call and Yu mucked his hand.
Both players were happy to check the before the dealer produced the on the river. Again, Demicki checked. Tollefsen bet out 18,500 and after a moment Demicki made the call.
Tollefsen rolled over his for jack-high, before Demicki tabled his for the best hand.
We came up to table 2 with two red all in triangles on display. One in front of Xiongzhen Wu and the other in front of Qu Liu. The action was on Seyed Borghei who was contemplating the call which he eventually made. Liu was the shortest stack and Borghei had both players covered.

The board came giving Liu the pot. Even with a triple up, Liu only had 28,000.
He would be putting his chips to use on the very next hand when his chips went in on a flop of and was called by Michael Kanaan. Kanaan turned over and Liu showed . Liu didn't find any help on the turn or the river and was eliminated from the tournament.
