Lim Hurt By Seoul Traffic

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Aaron Lim's shrinking stack
Aaron Lim's shrinking stack

The South Korean capital is home to about 25 million people and therefor traffic can get a bit crazy from time to time. Defending champion Aaron Lim just experienced the Seoul traffic first hand as he was about 40 minutes late for the start of the tournament.

Lim started the day with only 14,700 chips and he was already blinded down to 7,100 when he finally arrived. As of right now Lim's still in the hunt but his stack has taken a big hit already by not showing up on time.

Razavi Sliding

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

We came to the table with a flop of {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} on the board and a 1,800 bet in front of Sam Razavi, who was on the button. The player in the big blind called, as did Sang Hyun Park who was under the gun.

The {7-Diamonds} turn came and both the big blind and and Park checked over to Razavi, who bet 3,400. The big blind folded and Park raised to 8,400. Razavi made the call and we saw the {k-Diamonds} river. Park led for 9,300 and Razavi looked ready to put calling chips in the middle but paused for a minute. Eventually, he made the call and slid his cards to the muck after Park said "flush, no good" and turned over {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

Ace-King Does it For Ishihara

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Masanori Ishihara raised to 2,600 under the gun and the action folded to Cheng Cheng who moved all in for 18,600 from the button. An Tai Young was seated in the small blind and he made the call putting the action back on Ishihara.

"All in," Ishihara announced, and Young looked back down at his cards before letting them go. Cheng had a chance to triple up and the showdown went as following.

Ishihara: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Cheng: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Ishihara hit a flush to knock out Cheng and quite a chunk from Young in the process.

Lim Doubles

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

After blinding down to just 7,100 in chips, Aaron Lim patiently waited for a hand by folding the first four that he saw. He was under the gun when he found {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} and decided to go with it, pushing his final 6,700 into the middle. He was called by Chunjie Liu with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Lim got out of his chair, resigned to call it a day. The outlook got much brighter when the {8-Diamonds} came on the turn. After the {2-Spades} came on the river, he took his seat ready to find his next opportunity for a double up.

Cohen Controls The Table

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Sam Cohen, who started with a big stack, has been in control of her table right off the bat. Timothy Place just raised to 2,700 and Cohen called from the button after which Makoto Yoshimichi, from the small blind, three bet to 10,000.

Place quickly tossed in the call and Cohen followed suit.

On the flop {J-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} popped up and Yoshimichi bet 15,000 after which Place quickly folded. Cohen announced she was all in and Yoshimichi quickly folded leaving himself with 59,000 chips.

Just a few hands after his double up, Aaron Lim found himself with {a-}{6-} against the {a-}{10-} of David Martirosyan.

We didn't see the action first hand but were told by Martirosyan and table mate Ron Kluber that Lim initially raised to 3,000 and Martirosyan reraised to put Lim all in. Lim called and the flop came {a-}{k-}{10-} to seal Lim's fate. Martirosyan is having a good morning so far and is accumulating a very healthy stack.

Broadway For Kim

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Sid Kim, a from the USA but currently living in South-Korea, just managed to find himself a very big double up. The board read {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs} when Kim had moved all in for 35,200 and the action was on David Martirosyan who went into the tank for several minutes.

Eventually the clock was called and in the final seconds Martirosyan decided to make the call.

Kim turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and after some "ooohs" and "aaahs" from the players at the table he raked in this big pot.

Kluber Exits

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Ron Kluber went all in for his final 17,300 with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and after some reluctance Takahashi Yoshiyuki made the call with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Kluber looked good for the double up until the flop came {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, giving Yoshiyuki plenty of more outs. The turn {3-Hearts} gave Yoshiyuki the flush and the river {9-Hearts} sent Kluber to the rail.

Trouble For Razavi

Level 10 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Sam Razavi had just been knocked down to only 7,000 chips after he was on the losing end of an important hand.

Razavi raised to 3,300, from a total of 21,400, and the button and small blind decided to call. The flop brought out {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and all three players checked.

On the turn the {5-Clubs} hit and Razavi bet 3,900 after the small blind had checked once more. The button folded and the small blind called putting the {A-Hearts} out on the river. The small blind lead out for 7,500 and Razavi reluctantly called.

"Flush!" the gentleman excitedly announced as he showed {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Razavi quietly mucked before uttering, "I just can't fold that," indicating that he had indeed made a strong hand. The former APPT Grand Final winner has just a few big blinds left and he's likely to be all in within the next orbit or so.
