Toshiyuki Onda started out the day eleventh in chips but has not had an easy go of it this afternoon. In this particular hand, he opened the action by raising to 2,400 from under the gun. He was three-bet from a middle position player to 8,000. Onda made the call and the players saw a flop.
Onda check-called his opponent's bet of 7,000 and the turn was dealt. Onda took the betting lead with 18,000. His opponent answered by moving all in. Onda cut out the chips to call which appeared to leave him with just about 16,000 behind. After some serious thought, he reluctantly let his cards go leaving him with about 1/3 of his stack from the start of the day.
Andy Chan has just knocked out the lovely Patty Pei Yu Lai from this tournament. After asking the players at her previous table the following information was collected.
Lai had raised before the flop with offsuit and she was called by Chan from the blinds. the flop was nine-high and both players checked. On the turn a popped up and Lai called a 4,500-chip bet from Chan.
On the river a popped up and Chan bet, after which Lai moved all in. Chan had made a straight with and he knocked his opponent out holding a straight.
Sam Razavi has just tripled up holding pocket queens. The 2012 APPT Grand Final winner moved all in and got called by one player who was squeezed out by a third player.
Razavi ended up heads up against and his hand survived the five cards that appeared on the board. Razavi still doesn't have much, but it's a whole lot better than a few minutes ago.
We came to the table just as PokerStars Team Online Naoya Kihara's chips were being pushed to Daniel Belov. We learned Kihara had jacks against the kings of Belov on a board of . At the end of the hand, Kihara had 3,200 and would be in the small blind for the next hand.
The next hand saw the player under the gun go all in and it folded to Kihara, who rolled his eyes in frustration as he folded.
Following that, Belov raised from middle position to 4,000. Action folded to Kihara who put his final 2,000 in the middle. The blinds folded and it was another contest between Belov and Kihara. Kihara tabled and was happy to see he was in better shape than he thought against the of Belov.
Unfortunately for Kihara, he didn't find any help as the board ran out . That doesn't mean he's done with poker for the weekend as he plans to play the Omaha event later today. He also talked about how excited he was to be heading to Las Vegas for the WSOP this summer.

On Wednesday, April 2, the Season 8 schedule for APPT Macau was announced. The festival will take place May 14-25, 2014, and be held at PokerStars LIVE Macau at the City of Dreams.
The schedule is highlighted by three events: the HK$5,000 APPT Macau Warm-Up, the HK$25,000 Main Event, and the HK$100,000 High Roller. The Warm-Up will take place May 17-18 and boast an HK$1,000,000 guarantee. The Main Event will run May 21-25, and the High Roller will run May 24-25.
Chane Kampanatsanyakorn before the flop from the hijack and Eric Eng called from the small blind. The flop brought out and Eng check-called 3,000.
On the turn the popped up and Eng opted to check-called once again, only this time the bet was 8,000.
The river completed the board with the and Eng lead out for 13,800. Kampanatsanyakorn went into the tank for quite a while but eventually he let go of his hand.
Kampanatsanyakorn's still off to a great start here today as he managed to more than double his stack before losing this pot to Eng.
Sam Razavi, who started the day with a short stack, had lots of swings both up and down before he was just knocked out.
Razavi ended up all in before the flop holding two nines and that turned out to be no good against ace-jack. Razavi's opponent hit a jack right on the flop and that marked the end of his APPT Seoul Main Event.
