Raymer Eliminated Early on Day One
With four-handed action pre-flop the board read {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. All players checked the flop and the turn was the {4-Spades}. Raymer and two other players checked the turn before Lei He made a bet of 600. Raymer raised to 1,600 and it was left to Lei He who made the call. The river was a blank {5-Clubs} and Raymer pushed all in for 6,000. Lei He made the call with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Raymer turned over {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}, revealing a missed gut-shot straight draw and with that, Raymer was headed to the rail very early at the Sydney APPT Grand Final.

The remaining player exposed his {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and let out a loud sigh. After the flop he was drawing dead and Rahme was up to 50,000 in chips.

Nicolaou Takes Down Huge Pot

In one of the biggest pots of the event so far, Nick Nicolaou has doubled up through Dean Edwards. With action on every street, and a board of {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Nicolaou put the last of his chips into the pot on the river and Edwards went into the tank. After several minutes Edwards finally made the call and showed {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped nut straight. Nicolaou flipped over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for the full house and took down a massive 60,000 chip pot.
