Assadourian Down to 4,000

Eric Assadourian
Eric Assadourian
On a board showing {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, Sydney native Eric Assadourian called a 2,000 bet from an opponent in middle position. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and the first action was passed to Assadourian who led out with a monster 10,000 bet; his opponent just called. The last card off the deck was the {K-Clubs}, which gave Eric, who held {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, top pair. His opponent checked once more and this time Eric fired a 9,000 bet, leaving himself with just 4,000 in chips. His opponent made the call and rolled over {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, revealing two pair, which was good enough to take down the pot.

Pocket Aces Prevail....Barely

A huge pot on table three saw two players all-in on a board of {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} with {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} up against the monster draw of {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The {K-Clubs} on the turn brought the flush, but a {10-Clubs} gave the aces the nut flush and a huge 38,000 pot.

Mark Alati Hits on the River to Win Big Pot

Mark Alati raised to 3,000 pre-flop with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and was called by a local player. The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} giving Alati the nut flush draw. Both players checked and when the turn came the {9-Diamonds} the unknown player bet 2,700 and Alati made the call. The river was the {K-Spades} and the pair of kings was enough for Alati to beat {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The unknown player leaves in disgust after mucking his cards.

Assadourian Eliminated

A short-stacked Eric Assadourian moved all in for a total of 3,200 over the top of an opponent's 800 pre-flop raise. His bet was called by both the big blind in seat ten and the player who made the original raise in seat four.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the big blind led out with a 3,000 bet; seat four made the call. The turn brought the {7-Spades} and the big blind fired again, this time for 2,000; seat four called. The {A-Hearts} rolled off the deck on fifth street, prompting the big blind to up the ante to 10,000 which caused the player in seat four to fold.

At the showdown, Eric revealed K-Q and his opponent turned over A-Q for the win, eliminating Assadourian from the tournament midway through level four.

Great Table

Mark Vos and Tony D have just been moved to an already exciting table which consisted of Ramond Rahme, Grant Levy and Tino Lechich. There are some massive chip stacks at this table but that could all change with the introduction of these two young guns.

Daniel Macpherson Crippled in Bizarre Fashion

Danny Macpherson

The board was {9-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Danny Macpherson made a bet of 1,000 into a pot of 7,000. He was raised to 6,000 by Angelo Tringas. Macpherson made the call and stated "I have to be outta here by 4 p.m. anyway," as he turned over {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Tringas was stunned as he turned over {5-Spades}{9-Spades}, with the pair of nines good.

David Saab couldn't believe his eyes as he turned to Macpherson and asked "Can you please donate the rest of those to me?"

Nick Nicolaou Caught on a Bluff

At the end of level four, on a board of {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} Nick Nicolaou fired 12,500 into an already impressive pot, but when his opponent made the call he had to sheepishly turn over {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. His opponent flipped over {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} to catch Nicolaou's bluff attempt. He is now down to 30,000 in chips.
