Aces Fail Rahme in Huge Pot

On a flop of {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Raymond Rahme bet out for 3,500 and Grant Levy raised it up to 10,000. Rahme thought for a moment before re-raising to 40,000 and Levy instantly announced he was all-in. Rahme thought for several moments and, after declaring that he thought his opponent had a set, made the call for nearly all of his chips. Rahme turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} but he was in desperate trouble as Levy flipped up {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for the set. The turn was {Q-Hearts} and the river {3-Diamonds} to leave Rahme on the verge of elimination. Grant Levy is now a commanding tournament leader with well over 200,000 in chips.

Chan Wins Monster Pot; Assumes Tournament Chip Lead

Team PokerStars Player Terrence Chan just took down a very large pot and along with it, the tournament chip lead.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, first action was passed to Chan who opened with a 3,200 bet. His opponent then kicked it up to 10,000 and Terrence made the call. The turn brought the {9-Spades} prompting both players to knuckle the table and see a free river.

The last card off the deck was the {A-Spades} and Chan's opponent fired a 12,000 bullet. Chan then raised, making it 28,000 to go. When his opponent announced his decision to call, Chan said "Good call" and hesitated before turning over the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens. Much to the relief of Chan, his opponent mucked.

After the hand, Chan stacked up 118,000 in chips; currently the largest stack in the field.

Battle of the Blinds

In a classic battle of the blinds and on the flop of {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, the small blind pushed his short stack all-in and David St. Eloi made the call holding {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. The {6-Spades} on the turn gave St. Eloi the lead and the {4-Hearts} on the river sent his opponent to the rail. St. Eloi now has over 75,000 in chips.
