Aces Versus Kings With Mixed Results

We've just had two clashes of pocket aces versus pocket kings with two interesting results.

On table six, Danny Huynh was nervous when his opponent called his big re-raise on the flop of {5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}. So much so, that both players checked the turn and river of {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Huynh with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} took down the pot, but his opponent was thrilled to have lost the minimum with his {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

There was much faster action over on table five, where John Holsonback was in great shape with his {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} all in pre-flop against Alan Shortall's {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. However when the board came {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Shortall was stacking his chips while Holsonback was left wondering what might have been.

The Croc Gets Action

Billy "The Croc" Argyros
Billy "The Croc" Argyros
Over on table three, four players including Billy "The Croc" Argyros limped into the pot to see a flop of {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. It was checked around and the turn brought the {4-Spades}. Crocky bets out on the turn and gets one customer. The river brings the {3-Diamonds} and Crocky fires another 1,200 into the pot. He is called and flips up {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for the backdoor straight.

As he rakes in his chips Crocky chirps "I'm staying on the 12th floor guys - what does seven + five equal?"

Dunworth Playing Almost Every Pot but Finds a Double Up

Michael Dunworth has been busy playing nearly every pot on table 17 with mixed results. After falling to less than 5,000 in chips he found a handy double up through PokerStars qualifier Guiliano Petrozziello.

Dunworth held {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Petrozziello {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. With all the money in pre-flop the board presented an amazing {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to double up Dunworth to around 9,000 chips.

Sibling Rivalry

We have identical twins playing in the field today, Aaron and Derek Lerner. Aaron has taken the early lead in the battle of the twins with 22,000 chips while Derek, who was at one point over 26,000, has now slipped down to around 19,000 chips.

Hachem Rebuilds

After taking some early punches, Joe Hachem has just taken down a nice pot against Vinh Truong.

Truong limped from mid-position and Hachem raised to 1,200 from the small blind. Truong called and the two of them saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Hachem fires out 1,600 and Truong makes the call.

Both players check the turn of {J-Hearts} before the river brings the {K-Hearts}. Hachem fires out a 5,200 chip bullet and Truong thinks for a moment before laying down his hand.

Hachem is now once again close to his original starting stack and has things moving in the right direction.
