Nicholas Gazal Eliminated in 43rd place

Grant Levy raises pre-flop to 20,000 and Nicholas Gazal pushes the rest of his 140,000 stack into the middle. Levy insta-calls and flips {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} to be in great shape against the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} of Gazal.

On the flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Gazal had snatched the lead. A {2-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing, but then an amazing {10-Diamonds} on the river gave Levy a straight to eliminate Gazal in 43rd place.

With the win Grant sent a hello back home to his wife Sharon.

Scotty Nguyen Plays Aces to Perfection

Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen raises to 22,000 from the cutoff and Michael Pedley makes the call in position on the button.

They see a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and both players check.

The turn brings the {K-Hearts} and Scotty checks. Pedley bets out 30,000 and Scotty looks like he is going to throw his hand away. He then reaches for chips in preparation for a call, before announcing “raise” and adding another 70,000 to the pot. Pedley thinks before shoving all of his 180,000 chips into the middle. Scotty makes the call.

Pedley: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Nguyen: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

Everyone was surprised to see that Scotty had played his aces in this manner, and when the {4-Clubs} landed on the river, the gallery was thrilled to see the "Prince of Poker" raking in an enormous pot, eliminating Pedley in 40th place.

Guttman Gutted In Blind Horror

Michael "Sticky" Guttman and Lei He got into a raising war pre-flop in a battle of the blinds. They see a flop of {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and "Sticky" decides to push the rest of his chips into the middle holding pocket sevens. Unfortunately for "Sticky", Lei He makes an insta-call with his pocket aces.

The {A-Diamonds} on the turn and "Sticky" was left drawing dead. Lei He now has a mountain of chips in front of him while Guttman has been crippled.

Karib Ousts Colin Evans with Quads

Karib Karib has just eliminated another player from the tournament. His latest victim, Colin Evans, moved all in over the top of a 33,000 pre-flop raise made by Team PokerStars player Lee "Final Table" Nelson. Karib cold called the re-raise and Nelson got out of the way.

Evans: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Karib: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The hand was decided after the first three cards off the deck came {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, giving Karib quads and a whole lot of extra chips. Evans finished the tournament in 38th place and collected $11,510 in prize money.

Davoud Khajeh Doubles Up

On a flop of {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Davoud Khajeh bet out 40,000 into the pot with {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. His opponent, Henrik Gwinner, raises it up to 150,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} to put Khajeh all in. He makes the call and has the lead. The turn and river brick and Gwinner stumbles for one of the few times today, while Khajeh is now back in good shape.

Mark Ericksen's Rollercoaster Ride

Mark Ericksen
Mark Ericksen
Mark Ericksen has just tangled in two big pots holding the worst hand on each occasion.

He has taken a hit in a big clash with Patrick Fletcher, with Fletcher's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} holding on against Ericksen's {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} in a pot worth over 200,000.

However he had better luck when his {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} out-flopped the pocket aces of an unlucky John Matwey a few hands later. The board of {J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} gave Ericksen the broadway straight, moving him back up to around 190,000 in chips.
