For those of you that are unsure exactly what PokerPro, and in turn a PokerPro tournament is, here is an explanation.
PokerPro is a fully automated poker table that combines the speed and efficiency of online poker with the thrill and feel of playing a traditional live game.
Each table holds up to ten players and instead of real chips, each player has their own personal touch screen which controls all their betting actions. There is a larger monitor in the middle of each table that displays the pot size, player actions, community cards and stack sizes of each player.
When not in use for this tournament the tables can be set up for cash game use where the players can either purchase prepaid cards or deposit money into their own PokerPro account.
Today, all ten PokerPro tables in the Crown Poker Room are filled with tournament players who have each paid $1,050 to play in Event 2 of the Aussie Millions.
Local Jim Sachinidis has just asked the Tournament Director, "If I say I'm all in, is it binding?" This statement generated a laugh from his table, which includes Ben Delaney, Reza Vakili and Ashish Gupta.
On another table Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad has just commented that this is the first time she has ever played on a PokerPro table. Seated next to her is Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham, who is showing her the ropes
Craig Bergeron opened to 150 and was met with a reraise to 400 by Martin Harvey. Bergeron made the call and both players checked the flop of .
When the landed on the turn Bergeron led out for 475 and Harvey made the call. With the peeling on the river, both players checked with Bergeron's good for the nut flush and the pot.
We have seen pocket kings run into pocket kings not once but twice so far in this tournament.
Both times, all the money was in preflop with the pot being chopped.
It seems as though players are more willing to move chips round following the ease of the touchscreen; however only one player has been knocked out of the tournament so far.
