Welcome To Event #10! $550 Poker Pro Shootout

Pow pow! Everyone likes a good old fashion shootout.

Welcome to the $550 Poker Pro Shootout set on the fast computer-based tables at the other end of the room. The main event might be why most people are here but in this event you'll be going from full-ring to short-handed to heads-up in a matter of hours.

The cap for this event is 90 players, and it's looking likely that it's going to be full despite some other big tournament going on today.

Shootout Rules

Remember in a shootout that no-one moves tables. Simply you keep playing until just one player remains. The one winner from each table will all sit on one more table and then play out to a winner.

Pressing The Red Reset Button

It looks as though the tournament is going to have to be restarted with all chip counts reset to their starting stacks. Several players have come over to Pokernews, very unimpressed out that some players on their tables had stacks of up to 19,000 and are now losing out.

"Someone could have been knocked out," said James Keys, inferring that they'd have a full stack again from this restart. Others are apparently going to ask for their buy-in back.

The tournament has now restarted, but it remains to be seen how happy those playing this event are with this decision.

Show One

Over on the James Keys table, the eight players are playing the show one card game if you win the pot. They've also been the first to lose a player after someone ran {A-?} {K-?} into {A-?} {A-?}.

Hero Call Of The Day

With a board reading {5-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {6-?} {7-?} one player fired out a bet of 7,600 on the river into a 10,000 pot, covering his opponent who had checked.

The second player defiantly called with just {8-?} {8-?} but alas, his foe who had fired all three streets turned over {Q-?} {Q-?} for second set.

One of the other players said, without too much sympathy, "I knew you were going to donk off all your chips mate!"

The youngster who won the pot though, couldn't stop giggling uncontrollably.
