Hansen Wins Again

Erick Lindgren raised to 1,500 from the small blind and Gus Hansen called in the big blind.

{A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}

Lindgren fired out 2,000 but Hansen raised to 5,500 making the American muck.

Two-nil to the Dane as we say in Europe.

Juanda Firing Flop and Turn

Erick Lindgren raised to 1,500 and John Juanda three-bet to 5,500. Lindgren made the call and the flop came {J-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Spades}. Lindgren checked and Juanda bet 7,000. Lindgren made the call, bringing the two players to the turn where the {6-Spades} landed.

Lindgren checked and Juanda bet 20,000 this time. Lindgren folded his hand and Juanda won the pot.

Juanda increased his stack to 130,000 and Lindgren dropped to 105,000.

Demjan's Two Pair Good Against Tony G

Sandor Demjan checked the flop of {6-Spades} {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} to Tony G. Tony G bet 2,000 and Demjan called.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and Demjan checked again. Tony G fired 5,000 and Demjan came along to the river.

The {J-Spades} completed the board on the river and both players checked. Demjan showed {6-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for two pair and Tony G mucked his hand, dropping to 90,000. Demjan moved his stack up to 125,000.

Stern Flushes Ferguson

Michael Sampoerna raised to 1,500 from the cutoff seat and was called by both blinds. Dani "Ansky" Stern was in the small blind and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson in the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts}. All three players checked.

The turn card was the {5-Hearts}, possibly completing some straight and flush draws. Stern fired 3,500 and Ferguson raised to 10,000. Sampoerna folded and Stern made the call.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and both players checked. Stern showed {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and a king-high flush and Ferguson mucked his hand.

I'm All Shak Up!

It's fairly difficult to see what's happening on the feature table, but we just caught the end of a hand between Phil Ivey and Dan Shak in a large pot.

It looked as though Ivey had made a 34,000 raise on the turn of a {7-Spades} {8-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} board against Dan Shak. Shak made the call but then folded to a 25,000 bet on the {3-Clubs} river.

I Double Durrrr You...

"Yawn, I haz teh Acez again!!!!!"
"Yawn, I haz teh Acez again!!!!!"
Dan Shak raised from the button to 3,000 and Tom Dwan called in the small blind. The flop was {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} {3-Hearts} and Dwan checked.

Shak bet 6,000 and Dwan check-raised to 16,000. Shak moved all-in and Dwan quickly called.

Shak: {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Dwan: {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}

The turn was the {4-Spades} and river was the {9-Spades}. Dwan doubles up to about 98,000 while Shak drops to 65,000.

Hansen Playing Tighter?

After calling a raise preflop from John Juanda, Gus Hansen folded to a single bet on the flop.

"The new and improved Gus Hansen," commented Juanda. "Must have been a New Year's resolution that you remember."

"I made plans to play tight in the first two levels," responded Gus. "Hasn't worked out so far."

Eldar Isn't A Believer

On a {6-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop, Gus Hansen fired out 4,500 and David Eldar made the call. Both players checked the {8-Hearts} turn and the {4-Spades} river.

Hansen was forced to show {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} and was unhappy with the 'last aggression rule' meaning he had to show first. Eldar turned over {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} to win the pot.
