James Akenhead (during Opening Event): needs to pick up chips!
James Akenhead (during Opening Event): needs to pick up chips!

Full Tilt Red Pro James Akenhead is struggling, down to his last 5,000 in chips, using his second-chance card after being smashed by Jason Samsonov.

The action folded around to Akenhead who raised to 600 from middle position before the player in the small blind reraised to 1600. Samsonov called from the big blind, as did Akenhead, to make it three-handed to a flop of {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The small blind led out for 2,500 and Samsonov moved all-in for 2,900 before Akenhead called all-in for 2,075.

Small blind: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Samsonov: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Akenhead: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}

Samsonov hit the wheel on the turn of the {4-Spades}, which held after the river {K-Spades} completed the board. Samsonov is now up to 11,500, but the same can't be said for Aussie online phenom Daniel Neilson who was picked off by Luke McLean.

The action folded around to McLean who raised to 525 from the hijack position and McLean called from the cutoff before Neilson potted from the small blind. The hjiack folded, McLean re-potted and Neilson called.

McLean: {A-}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{5-}
Neilson: {K-}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-}

Despite hitting an up-and-down straight draw on the flop of {Q-}{2-}{4-}, McLean stayed ahead when the turn and river bricked out {9-}, {J-}. McLean is now sitting pretty, holding more than 20,000 in chips and still has his second-chance card!
