Sapitavicius Sends Stack to Wolters

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From early position, Arunas Sapitavicius moved all in and chip leader Derek Wolters in the big blind asked for a count. The Lithuanian was at risk for 221,000 and Wolters elected for the call.

Sapitavicius: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Wolters: {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} was a big one for Wolters, as he had the straight draw and higher flush draw. With the {3-Diamonds} turn, some outs disappeared but the {4-Spades} river was all the American needed to bust his opponent. Sapitavicius headed to the rail in 10th place and picked up a payday of A$9,415.

Steindl Saved

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ashish Gupta made it 35,000 and Chance Kornuth bumped it to 88,000.

Sam Steindl shoved all in behind for almost 300,000 and after Gupta released, Kornuth called with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Steindl was way behind with the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and looked to be felted through the turn with the board running out {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. However, the {a-Spades} river came down and saved his tournament life.

Gupta vs Yan vs Steindl

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

On the heads-up flop {3-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Ashish Gupta checked in the big blind and [Removed:17] bet for 40,000. Both the {8-Diamonds} turn and {K-Hearts} river were checked and Yan flipped over {Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Gupta took the pot with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Soon after, Sam Steindl raised to 38,000 and Gupta three-bet to 93,000 out of the small blind.

Steindl reluctantly called and the flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Gupta fired 71,000 and Steindl called before both players checked down the {9-Hearts} on the turn and the {Q-Diamonds} on the river. Steindl's {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} won the pot.

Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Ashish Gupta raised to 35,000 from the button and Chance Kornuth moved all in from the small blind for 281,000. Sam Steindl folded in the big blind and Gupta quickly called.

Kornuth: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Gupta: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

There was no help for the American pro on the board {3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}, however he picked up the second cash in Melbourne after just arriving here a few days ago and then successfully jumping into the Shotclock Shootout.

Francesco Sergi
Francesco Sergi

Francesco Sergi shipped it in for 152,000 on a {10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop with about 70,000 in the middle, heads up with chip leader Derek Wolters.

Wolters called with the {10-Spades}{q-Clubs} and was ahead of Sergi's {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} until the {q-Spades} turn completed Sergi's open-ender.

The {j-Diamonds} river didn't change things and Sergi doubled up.
